Come on, what's the point of making a pimp user interface design while loosing overview and ease of navigation and ease of use?! It's really awkward to navigate through photos now and I'm an advanced user. There's no way my parents will be able to use it now. Please give the option to revert back to the previous (or something similar functionality) UI quickly or I will have to uninstall it from all my family devices and search for an other app!

I have no objection to interface overhauls, but they have to make the experience better. This one is terrible. Clumsy to use and less intuitive. I'm not even sure about the addition of video. It works better as a photo gallery app only in my opinion.

This app's usability has deteriorated to a state where it no longer works at all. Usability in the v2.33 update was a huge step backwards. Recently (last week or so) the app stopped working completely. I can no longer upload photos or see any new photos posted. The Mac desktop app and iOS app are still working. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Excellent for sharing baby pics. Wish it had video. My whole family uses this app for sharing pictures of our 4-month old. She's the first grandchild in both our families, so she's getting a lot of attention! We set up Familiar on an iPad for my computer-illiterate in-laws halfway around the world. My wife and I can easily share photos with them using our Android phones or the desktop app. I love how Familiar works so seamlessly cross-platform. The app is fantastic for this use case. I used to love this app. After the most recent update, I am no longer able to log in. It keeps on saying that my internet is down ( which is not)

I would like to use it for my father to show him the most recent pictures of his grandchild. However the interaction for browsing new pictures is really complicated and seems broken. Clicking on the polaroid of recent activity shows only 1 picture of all the added pictures and there is no way in browsing to the other pictures in that set. I also try to delete the sample channel, but it returns all the time. For sure they need to do some work on the interaction, but I didn't find anything comparable that could be easy for not so technical people. The slideshow works ok.

This *was* a great app for privately sharing photos (e.g. for easily sharing pics of the grandkids with the grandparents). The grandparents loved it - they just turned on their PC or tablets and the latest family photos appeared. But it doesn't work any more (Lots of "An unknown error occurred" messages appearing instead of photos). With the last update being nearly 5 months ago (2.3.3) and the Familiar Twitter account silent since the end of August, I suspect these guys are no longer in business. Shame

Last week several new photos were uploaded by a family member and did not show up on my account. My daughter had this problem a few months ago and simply uninstalled and reinstalled program and problem is fixed. I tried to do the same and am completely unable to log in in any form or create a new account, it tells me each time I am experiencing. Network problems. It was great for my family to share photos from vacations etc. But is useless now. I have no access to these photos and they were priceless.

I find that I get the most value out of Familiar by using it as an automatically-updated photo frame for my phone and tablet. What I usually do is dock my nexus 7 in its dock, and Familiar starts up automatically. It refreshes itself with the latest photos from my family and gives me a glimpse of what's going on in their lives. The new format is harder to navigate "on-demand", but I look forward to that being fixed going forward.

It appears the company is no longer in existence. App does not work and no response from customer service after weeks going by. Too bad it use to be great

I liked the old format much better. While the new update is more visually aesthetic, it's not as user-friendly. Thus, I don't use it as much as I used to.
