I cannot browse for their content because it says I'm having trouble connecting to the internet which is obviously not true. UPDATE 11/23/21: still having issues with all. I can't even click on a video after app starts. This app should have never been released to production. I don't know how this app made it out of QA. Acloudguru I expected better. Linux academy app was way better than this app. I'm using A Cloud Guru v3.1.1-0 [13015]

Very buggy. Downloaded videos still need internet connection to play. Sometimes a hiccup in internet connection will cause the video to start over from the beginning. Doesn't let you select where to download videos (I think Linux Academy did).

Have not been able to use the app at all. Can't even lead the videos, browse the course catalog or download anything. The only thing I am able to do is play videos of course I have already started on the web. Terrible app.

Nice interface. Easy to use. Main issue is, downloads require an internet connection to play. That kills the app for me. It's a shame.

Can't even use the app, it opens, shows a start page for a split second and then the entire app turns dark blue, can't see or click on anything

Inconsistent playback. Auto playback feature doesn't always work on mobile devices. The app plays courses randomly when I lock my phone or close YouTube. I don't like using the mobile app. This seems like a recent issue. I haven't experienced it before a month or so ago. It's best to stick with the desktop web browser variant.

Their content is wonderful. Their app is terrible. The video player has so many quirks, I'm posting a review in case it can help anyone deal with it: (1) Download a course before playing it. Without doing this, the video player may lose its connection somehow and will start the video over, losing your spot. My assumption is the link is a signed URL with expiry, and expiration happens mid-watch. (2) Between videos, 50% of the time you have to click play to start the next one. But it's worse than that - it shows it in play state, click play -> pause -> play. Be VERY careful to tap precisely - the hit-boxes for rewind/fastforward prev/next are super easy to accidentally tap, thus losing your spot. Tap directly in the center of the triangle, carefully. (3) Close the app when done. The player will randomly start playing on your phone. I've found myself 10 lessons ahead. I kept an eye on it once, and indeed - when I was done, put the phone down and plugged it in (for example.. I can't figure out what exactly triggers "play") it will just start playing after you've clicked pause. So close the app when done. (4) Manually remember where you left off (I take screenshots). "Up next" will almost guarantee lose your spot; usually the right video but started over, other times it's the wrong video. (/list) What sucks is there's no way around getting this content otherwise. I've played with projects like Chrome Extensions for downloading videos, Python scripts for the same, etc. None of them work due to how CloudGuru has secured / expiration-signed their links & auth. I wish they provided some way to download your videos offline, maybe some metadata on the videos to ensure piracy results in a ban or such. But you're stuck with the app for now. I'll try the iOS app next, in case it has better support. It really boils down to their video player. If they're using a 3rd party plugin, they should consider trying a different 3rd party. 2-star to offset the app, since the content's so good. It's just so angering to use. As a technologist, I'm very ok with finding beta workarounds to quirks - but this app just keeps giving! I find more "quirks" each day, and have had to start writing a list of workarounds because I'll forget them all.

Really inconvenient to use, the app is not user-friendly. It's difficult to do any playbacks on videos and if you pause for more than 10 seconds, it will not play again. Going back or forward will also mess it up, numerous other issues like this. Please get this app fixed, you teach IT, you need to be better 😾

Great app if you already have a Cloud Guru subscription. Subscription price is worth it if you want to jumpstart your cloud IT knowledge, but watching on laptop or larger monitor is better, app is just great for when you're on the go. Really good content for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (GCP). Also interesting content for trends and news in Cloud computing

Similar bugs to everybody else. Some additional errors to report: when the app is minimized and playing in the background, there are no controls on the screen to pause, skip, etc. Even if the app is closed, at times it will randomly start playing videos where you left off. Finally, even if you have screen rotation locked on your phone, the app still rotates.
