Wipe free disk space to prevent deleted data restoration. DTEK

Data erasure (also called data clearing or data wiping) is a software-based method of overwriting the data that aims to completely destroy all electronic data residing on a hard disk drive or other digital media.

• random fill (-RANDOM-)
• zero fill (0000-0000)
• f fill (FFFF-FFFF)

Permanent data erasure goes beyond basic file deletion commands, which only remove direct pointers to the data disk sectors and make the data recovery possible with common software tools.
Unlike degaussing and physical destruction, which render the storage media unusable, data erasure removes all information while leaving the disk operable, preserving IT assets and the environment.

Secure Eraser provides a way to reset the SSD to its factory default state if there is a problem with the performance.

Note: Wiping free space can take a substantial amount of time.

My Android 7.0 device recently having this issue with deleting files but not releasing the occupied space. This happens mostly when I delete a large file or folder. Used for the first time and it really worked. My intention was to uninstall after one use, but it released 9GB of my internal storage space when i was actually expecting to release about 6.5GB (a folder size i deleted recently). I decided to keep it and give the 5* (Even if it works much slowly but effectively)

Seems a bit unstable, but so far it seems to work. First run seemed to work fine, but the second run (after clearing more space I hadn't cleared before the first run) experienced some apps stopping in the background, phone had trouble unlocking, and then it said I had less than half the free space I had before that second run, even after a reboot. Uninstalling and reinstalling seemed to clear up the files it had filled the space with during that bad run, back to what I should have.

Worked like a charm. To those who say that your storage goes down tremendously, its meant to do that. You see, how deleted data works is that when you delete a file, its actually hidden in your storage until something else overwrites it. This app fills up your storage with random data to overwrite all your 'deleted files' and then deletes the random data afterwards. You kids need to Stop complaining about this app before it even reaches 100%.

Does not work. I ran it on internal and external storage. After I ran this app I installed an image recovery app from the play store. The recovery app recovered the deleted images that the Secure Eraser should have cleared. This app is a waist of time and I wouldn't bother installing it again. I had to factory reset my mobile to get the free space back

for those of you saying you run this app and then you run diskdigger and it still recovers data... you are still finding data with diskdigger because there are CACHE files of the file you deleted still on your phone. this app permanently deletes files marked as free space in your phone. diskdigger will NOT detect these files anyway. you need to download zarchiver and delete your "android" folder and your "DCIM" to get rid of cache data. this app works wonders! if I could give 10 stars i would.

Best one I ever tried and why waist time with othrt apps and u don't have to worry about apks u put on there that ant suppose to be or mod apps. It want hurt them. I was afraid to use it but I did and I got back so much space those mod apps and apk apps put on my phon but they gone now, thanks for your great app. I will always use it because I'm always downloading mod and apk apps for free, when I find the pro version of this I will get that free to but I just found it😂😂😂😂, thanks, 💯💯

Suspicious as hell. When it finished scanning my phone it didnt do anything, the photos were still recoverable. And after it really finished, my phone sent out a warning that the memory was full (I HAVE 20GB FREE) and my phone restarted. Now I know to never trust this app.

It's a great app if you want to make sure your personal information is not retrievable. Bear this in mind. There is a limit to how many times you can reuse each sector of your device storage. For phones, it's safe to say you can rewrite each sector 100,000 times. The storage may fail any time after. You'll be able to read, just not write. 100,000 is a numerical average. Sub standard chips may allow less writes. If you have a 16gb phone, you may have 9gb for apps/data. Run this daily...

This is the most INSECURE eraser I have ever seen. I ran it, then I used the DiskDigger application, and there were THOUSANDS of deleted files that were all recoverable. Don't fall for the hype that you can rest easy that files have been secured erased.

I was hopeful and gave the benefit of the doubt despite reading all the atrocious reviews. However, it appears on all counts that your app really is garbage. Not only is it not effective at rendering deleted files irretrievable by overwriting the free space, the app is downright harmful. I started with 4.8 GB free space. After one complete pass, that became 3.1 GB. I ran another pass and now I have 1.2 GB of free space left. Thank you for depleting over 3 GB of my storage. Imbecile.
