One of the best, most intuitive layouts of a rental car app. It flows well and includes helpful graphics and explanation pop ups where needed. I've never had a problem with it. They also include helpful reminders about upcoming rentals and pre-return. Both are genuinely helpful.

I have used Avis for about 20 trips in the past couple of years but the app rarely shows my reservation and when it does it often will not recognize that my reservation has actually begun and therefore I can't do things like select a car, etc. I will be looking for a new rental car option with better functionality.

They change the rate on the contract when it prints by adding additinal extension fees. Then they charge you anyway even if you dont sign the contract with errors on it. This was a bad experiace the rep didnt know how to cancel a concract and instead processed as if i rented and returned. The rental rate when up again after that.

Worst app I've ever used! Price never goes through and they want me to pay more st the counter! I have never had any problems with my reservations at other car rental companies so I guess I should just stick to the other companies Thanks for nothing but wasting my time!

Very plain and not much usefulness. Can't split payment while trying to extend a rental. No connection easily found for perk rewards or to auto purchase options.

DO NOT USE THIS! I've been to Boston 4 times and was forced to use the app to get a car, EVERY TIME the app said "Sorry, we can not process your request, please call customer service" And guess what, they have no clue, they tell you to go to the counter. So each time I waited over an hour in line for the car they should have already assigned. The best part, you can't OPT OUT! No more looking at the board, seeing your parking spot and driving off. Now it just says "CHECK APP" and THE APP DOESN'T WORK! AVIS is not a technology company, have you seen their printers from the 1990s and their computer software still runs from the same era. This is a clue that they're living in the past and using band aids to deal with today's tech. Be for warned, DO NOT USE THIS TO PICK UP YOUR CAR, you'll be back in line waiting for what should have been a straight forward process.

san diego was not organized and did not use the scanner to show damage on car. also vehicle received had rough seat for Mazda x3. I have driven before but this one hurt my back. again, omaha location was professional and customer service skills great. they also knew how to use the equipment to update. san diego wrote down on paper but never inputted. so low rating due to san diego office

I Will Never Rent From Avis Again. I rented an Avis car. It had an e-Toll box on the windshield. 2 weeks after the rental I was sent an email with $200 in toll charges for roads I was hundreds ofiles away from. I contacted Avis in writing; they replied that they outsource the tolling, and I have to contact them. That is absurd. Plus, I cannot get in touch with the e-Toll company, so all I can do is dispute the charge on my Amex. Worst customer experience ever.

Hit and miss...dont expect to be able to actually return your car via the app...even if youve got solid GPS lock, or better yet, on wifi at the aiport, the app will simply tell you to refresh GPS over and over. Calling the help desk doesnt help either, even when I informed them that the "lock box" was standing wide open. Not a comforting feeling to drop a car off that is in your name, and having ZERO way to verify you did, except for taking pictures...take lots of pictures!!!
