I just finished puzzle number 47 and my thoughts were... "This is the best chess app I've ever used." After teaching children the basics of chess, you can teach them openings and have them use this app for an hour each night, they'll be destroying folks below 1800 rating in a year or so. Sounds strange but when you consider how imaginative children are and the plasticity of their minds, I'd be hard-pressed to consider that beating an expert or master within 2 years is a distinct possibility.

Using the free version. Good interface, operation, and graphics. Best of the six or so apps i have tried for intermediate level chess problem solving practice.

Good collection of puzzles, reminds me of Fred Reinhardt's (sp?) chess books of my youth

Great exercise puzzles for anyone who wants to become a better chess player.

Pretty good chess problems app. Not really a bells and whistles presentation, but works well, the display is clear and it's easy to see what's going on, but for one thing, which is that it rotates the board, and to be honest, this confuses me as I sometimes have problems working out which direction the pawns are travelling (please just keep white on the right ). The difficulty of the problems varies, which is good for me. I used to be a very bad player at school and I'm doing a little now for the sake of mental exercise. Anyway, I like it. It's fast, it gives you a rating, but I don't understand it, or at least, it seems grossly optimistic. Ads aren't that intrusive. I guess that is a bad thing really. I think maybe the devs ought to stick to chess related ads. There are books, people who collect boards, there's tournaments and there's clubs and online clubs. I think that might be more lucrative for you.

Great for teaching those crucial strategies. Most important part, make sure u can see the moves before u make them. I used to just move the pieces hoping I'd learn through subconscious thought but that don't work. U have to use ur consciousness to see the pieces move before u move them. Then u can apply these situations to ur games. I'm still learning this new process. Had to figure it out omo, so it took me a while.

Great puzzles. Only complaint is that I keep trying to pay for full version but I keep getting an error message.

This app is really great. Simply and easy to use. Shows you your ratings and growth. Easy to learn from your mistakes because it allows you to go back review and redo. Ads are easy to manage and not to irritating.

I originally rated 5 stars. I dropped it to 2. After continual playing (no not ads or anything like that) i noticed it will say on random set ups "checkmate in 3" or "checkmate in 4" ill find checkmate in 2 and just because its not the set up that they formulated it counts it as a bad move and penalizes your score saying incorrect move. I shouldn't see moves the computer doesn't, I'm not THAT good lol

some exercises are excellent. However, they expose only part of it. They could open more for the free version as they are already penalizing their users with an advertizements every other screens. Also, it could improve with more training materials.
