How annoying it is when your friends delete their messages before you can see them? The curiosity takes over. You just found the solution: WAMR! WAMR is the utility you were looking for. With one tool you are able to recover text messages and also any media attachment (pictures, videos, voice notes, audio, animated gifs and stickers)! All with one app! HOW IT WORKS Messages are encrypted on your device so WAMR can't access them directly. The only solution available is to read them from the notifications that you receive and create a message backup based on your notification history. When WAMR will detect that a message as been deleted, it will immediately show you a notification! MEDIA MESSAGES WAMR will also try to save any media attached to the message and if the sender deletes it, you will receive a notification. The following media types can be recovered: pictures, videos, animated gifs, audio, voice notes, documents, stickers. LIMITATIONS Please be aware that it doesn't exist an official and supported way to recover deleted messages. This is a workaround and may encounter limitations caused by the selected messaging app or even the Android OS: 1) Text messages are recovered by your notifications, therefore, if you have put a chat on silence, or if you are currently watching a message on the messaging app before it's deleted you will not receive a notification so WAMR can't save it! This also obviously means that is impossible to recover notifications/messages before you downloaded this app (so download it quickly!). 2) If messages aren't being saved, it may be caused by Android stopping WAMR. Please remove WAMR from all battery optimization services! 3) WAMR can't save files if they aren't completely downloaded! So if you are offline or you have an unstable connection, or in general if the sender deletes the message containing a media before the messaging app downloads it, WAMR can't do anything to save it. 4) If you aren't using a WiFi connection, some media may not be automatically downloaded by your messaging app because of your settings. You can change this behavior in Messaging app > Settings > Data and storage usage and increase your chances. Other limitations may be caused by your Android version, or your system language (in particular if it is right-to-left). Please feel free to contact me and submit me any problem so I can try to fix it! WAMR never collects your private messages or similar. Everything is saved only on your phone, locally.

Recovers my own messages when I delete them. This means I spend more time deleting messages from this app (one by one) than I spend using WhatsApp itself. It never did this a few months ago, I don't know why this has changed, but it means that the average star rating from new users is much lower than it used to be (and it's for good reason). Edit: it does catch deleted messages, so that's one extra star, but it's so time consuming and frustrating that it doesn't deserve more than two stars.

I have friends that delete messages for a living and though it shouldn't mean much, I feel like a part of my soul is taken away. Especially when I got to see the message in my notification and by the time I can reply it's gone!!!... Now I reply anyway, their jaws drop and I tell them "now you get to actually think before you press 'send' cause I WILL know what ya said" 😎!

Easy to use. Update made it a bit bad. Need some changes. 1. One feature to show only deleted messages 2. Date and time of deleted messages. 3. Add new feature to save one time view only images and videos. If not directly a feature where we can view it through the app and it gets saved or it views it directly and we have to view it via the app however possible. 4. An daily notification to reactivate the app if needed. Just now we only know about it when we open the app and its too late.

Useless useless app! Initially it could recover SOME messages. Lately, none at all. All it shows are received messages. If you have it, delete it and stop wasting space. Besides, you don't know what data it's collecting.

At first time I gave only 2 stars and recommended not to download because of some wrong indications of deleted msgs (it shows red mark for some other msgs not to the deleted one) but I am taking my words back. I compared many recovery apps with this. Then I come to know that this app is amazing..

I m telling my experience... that I really loved it.. great application and good service...but the thing which made me to give 4 start is.. this application generally ask me to re-start the service... Meanwhile it stops working and I have to go to my settings then restart the service....!! I request you to please fix this problem...?

Hi this was a great app it worked perfectly for me but I kind of have a small problem i was wondering if the creator of this app could help me out I mistakenly deleted every single thing from my media section because I couldnt see the buttons clearly cause it was all white and I clicked the select all button by mistake and the clicked delete thinkin I only deleted the stuff I intentionally wanted to delete but I ended up deleting everything so I hope u can help me recover it please reply to this

After last few updates , it has become completely useless, laggy . Please fix it . It is happening for last 2 months . Previously it was great , even I rated it with 4 stars , but now it is completely unusable. Please roll back to the stable version.

I enable everything that is required but the app doesn't see it, so it says it can't work. Used to work perfectly til last update. So I'm using a new app now.
