La palabra Torá viene del hebreo tohráh, que puede traducirse “dirección”, “enseñanza” o “ley” (Proverbios 1:8; 3:1; 28:4). * Los siguientes ejemplos muestran cómo se usa esta palabra hebrea en la Biblia.

Una parte del shemá dice: “Tienes que amar a Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma y con toda tu fuerza” (Deuteronomio 6:4-9). Jesús dijo que este era “el mandamiento más grande de la Ley” (Mateo 22:36-38).
