Minecraft Server Status (or MSS) is an app that uses a new feature (as of Minecraft 1.8) to get a server's number of players and MOTD (much like the new multiplayer option in the game). MSS does not need any server-side mods or plugins, just a server that is updated to Minecraft 1.8. This app can also refresh, reorder, rename, and save servers. MSS is also able to list Minecraft Pocket Edition servers on the Wifi network, but will not show the number of players online or latency (yet). This app supports widgets as well, making your favorite servers easy to access without opening MSS.

--

MSS Needs some permissions to run, namely INTERNET (needs to ask servers over the internet), ACCESS_WIFI_STATE (for broadcast addresses, to use for Pocket Edition servers) and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (checks to see if wifi/mobile data is enabled, if not, alert the user accordingly).

--

Note: THIS IS NOT MINECRAFT ON YOUR PHONE. MINECRAFT SERVER STATUS IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG AB.

the app works fine for me (using default ports). the only thing that bugs me is that it still sends notifications if i'm on the server. If there could be a place in the app to put your minecraft name so it turns off notifications while you're in-game that'd be really cool.

There's a moment when you just realize that what you just found is flipping amazing, exactly what you want, and you think it couldn't get any better. And then there's moments like when I found this app, where it's flipping amazing, exactly what I want, and oh what's this it also tells me what version and how many people are on my server AND it's version and can alert me to how any people are on, PLUS IT HAS A WIDGET! Great job on this truly truly amazing ! This could be a paid app for real.

The app itself is very functional, but I have problems with widgets. I have a server running, and I can see its status from the main app, but the widget never connects.

There are some flaws in it. Like the delete all servers button is broken and doesn't have all the necessities I need to monitor a server.

Seems to work as intended, but I have a problem with it displaying color codes in the minecraft motd. I'm using Spigot to host these servers remotely on a linux box. Though I don't think that should really be much of a factor.

Not sure how this is working but causes bad packet id 31 on my server. Had everyone uninstall this app and all errors disappeared.

This app seems great, though right away I discovered that each server can have only one notification. A server host who plays on his own server would find it convenient if he could be notified when someone is on and if the server is down.

I love this idea. Does it work with realms? Also, it should support SRV records. It's totally valid to have a server name that doesn't directly resolve to an ip address, but has a SRV pointer to a port+hostname. 5 stars when this is fixed!

This app does what I want it to and fairly well. It does however consume the most battery out of all my apps.
