Two stars. Sometimes it works for some time. Please Fujifilm, please deliver an app that works. Bugs: connecting first time, it mostly works. But after a connection loss, it is very hard to connect again. Connection losses happen frequently. Force closing app, deleting cache, and turning camera on and off, seems to do the trick most times. Bug 2: Switching to photo review from remote control. This stops the app from working. Bug 3: when using the app as a remote, it freezes often. For years now

I really like the Bluetooth shutter, and the photo transfer is good when it works (often takes some faffing around to get the wifi syncing working). Frustratingly, when transferring the images into my phone and then up to Google photos, it groups the photos into 'burst shots', irrespective of whether or not the imported photos were taken at the same time. This means that I have to go through and separately export each photo, which kind of ruins the convenience of the app.

Raised the rating from 1 star to 3 stars as Fuji finally provided an explanation on why the cameras were not connecting. Workaround: location permission must be set to all the time on the app and on the camera as well. Despite the fix some issues persist and there are still a lot of efforts to do from Fuji to make a quality app. Can't really understand how such a good brand make such a bad app. Looking for a reliable app in a nearby future.

This app used to be a hit and miss with my XT30, but I could still manage to transfer my photos with the autotransfer most of the time by simply turning off my camera while it was connected. Now that doesn't even work and I am stuck using a cable. Sad that such a great camera brand can't manage to get an even halfway decent app working for them.

I am using it, only because there is no other on the market. Otherwise, not user-friendly, awful design (small dark letters on dark background), takes years to connect, often disconnects, have to manually select the new pics one by one, the automatic transfer usually transfer not all of the new pics, but random ones etc.

Version 4.6.1.2 seems to have improved in connectivity. Now I could update the firmware without any battle using the app. Setting up the connection is a bit slow still, although it is now possible, so I updated my review from one star to three stars. A killer feature would be a proper tethered shooting, making the photos appear in the phone as the photos are taken, just like when using the phone's built-in camera.

  7. Ria Nicole Carmin-avatar

This app is a complete disaster. It connects one time out of 20 and then the connection drops all the time. I managed to use a USB-C cable to transfer photos on my phone, but I can't use the remote. The last update to this app was in 2020, which is terrible for this constantly crashing app. Fujifilm needs to invest in their digital experiences. It's not 2000 anymore. People expect your apps to work. Don’t have the same problem with my Nikon app & camera.

  8. Thomas Fransson-avatar

When It works, the app does a mediocre job. Connect to transfer jpgs can be a 15-30 min process. About half of the time it never manages to connect. Frustrating during event shoots if you need to publish images during the actual event. Remote view only work for a brief moment before connection is lost. It takes multiple to get it back up and running again. Sometimes It's impossible to get it to working again. Or at all in the first place. Shame as it’s a useful feature for framing.

Unstable connection, when or if it is even possible to connect. WiFi on my older cameras is somewhat better. My xt1 usually works OK and transfers are reasonably quick. My X-H1 uses Bluetooth which is awful. It is difficult to connect if it ever does, and it crashes often. Fujifilm really needs to focus on improving the speed and stability of their software. I love Fujifilm cameras, but if I was a professional photographer, this software would be a deal breaker for me.

Needs updated. This app is behind all the other brands. They need to step up and update the app to more modern times. I think fujifilm needs to understanding greatness in the past doesn't give a pass on greatness in the future. You don't need to be at cam ranger 2 status. Just be at even average status. This would be a great app in 2006. Not in 2021.
