OpenSongApp is designed to compliment the Open Source application for Linux/Windows/Mac called OpenSong that allows churches to project song lyrics, Bible verses, etc. You can check them out (and support them) at: http://www.opensong.org

Took a long time to convert from paper, resistance due to notes I make on my chord charts. I discovered this app allows me write notes exactly where I want and includes using symbols in chord lines like :||. Game changer. Love this app! Developer is very responsive and open to suggestions. Sharing songs are a snap and love the different modes. We have recently started to make more use of presentation mode. Who needs an expensive app, with useless eye candy, when there is this gem of an app!

I'm giving it 2 stars because there are so many good reviews I'm wondering if it's just me that finds this app about as unintuitive as any I've ever used. Very frustrating. It read some of the PDFs I imported but others showed up as a blank screen. I may justify have to stick with my 3-ring binder.

Awesome App! Ive got a gig coming up and need a song cheat sheet for 50 songs. Song structure, pedal settings, notes/triggers, etc. I love the customizeable interface and its been working great so far. Id recomend it to anyone

    1. Is there ability to search within a pdf? 2. Is there setting to swipe up/down through a pdf instead of just left/right?

  5. John Estlea-avatar

Great, including ability to sync my song PDFs from Google drive and seamless integration with my Bluetooth page turn pedal which also enables the app to send midi patch changes to my keyboard, all when I go to the next song. Would be great to have the set list slide out from the right like the song list slides out from the left, and to have an alphabetical index in both that appears above the list for easier jumping to songs. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hos Worship-avatar

App crashes every single time it tries to "act as client". I NEED this to work for our worship team, but it doesn't. I can't have every tablet acting as host when I am the one controlling which song is next. I am so super disappointed. When the other tablets are functioning they will randomly disconnect causing major confusion on stage. I'm looking for another app we can actually use. Unfortunately the one I want is only for ipad and not available for all of our devices. I would give zero stars.

  7. Joel de Zwaan-avatar

    Joel de Zwaan

Lots of features and it's free! One suggestion for a new feature would be that when you pinch to zoom out on the song so that it becomes half the width of the screen that it becomes 2 side by side columns. That would be really helpful for songs with short lines so I don't need to use the autoscroll.

I'm a working drummer & hope to use this app on my phone/tablet. I'm putting in basic info ie bar count, fills, verse, chorus, bridge, solo etc. My question to the developer was: is it possible to add notes eg drum beats & fills? Unfortunately UTF notes do not work well especially in dark mode. UTF are emoji cartoonish & not close to being applicable to add notation. I'll try uploading actual charts to this app then use it to organize & page turn.

  9. Jean Juárez-avatar

Hello, thanks for the app. It seems to be the perfect solution I was looking for. I was wondering how can I create the lyrics and chords out of the app. I mean. Is there a way to create a file in the PC and import it into the App, and be recognized?

Excellent app WAY beyond my expectations. Have been using this app for a very long time, and always recomend to people. In fact the whole worship team started using this app. Thank you Gareth for making music available for us musicians.
