Could be very good, but does not play nicely with apps like Button Mapper (flar2.homebutton) that rely on accessibility services. With Button Mapper enabled the information overlay doesn't auto-dismiss and the EPG seems to take phantom d-pad presses. Using on an nVidia Shield, everything else works perfectly. Button Mapper is only used to turn the "netflix" button on the remote into a "Live TV" button.

I’m using a Phillips android tv, live does not do what it’s supposed to do. I can not get a guide on screen that responded to remote. Ie the tv remote button labeled “tv guide” is unresponsive, all I get with any button is the future list of upcoming shows on the live channel that is selected. I’m unable to change channels with the channel change button, The direction keys change channel very slowly, so I would like to remove the app from Home Screen.

Only works with Pluto TV and XUMO, will not save live channels even though has an option to save them to App, gives you a lot of older channels of shows of yesterdays, wish the app worked with with all my streaming apps

This app needs to work with any "channelized" streaming service. The only ones I can get it to work with are Pluto TV and XUMO even though Redbox, DistroTV, Airy TV, and PLEX are channelized streaming services that obviously are using the exact same software as Pluto TV and XUMO. Why not give a list of services this app works with instead of giving the direction to "download apps" because you waste time downloading a dozen apps and Live Channels will work with none of them.

Live Channels does not show up on Chromecast Google TV unless you ask for it with voice. Live channels installs and works fine but does not show up as an App on any screens. Only way to access it is to hold the voice button and say "Live Channels". On other android tv devices it shows up when you have a supported app installed

Just found that this was installed on my Shield and I set it up. Setup was really simple, tell it I have a networked tuner (HDHR), that I use cable, my zip code. Done. Then I open the channel settings to select only the channels my package (and taste) allow. Working perfectly, for now, I'll use this over Plex or Jellyfin for Live TV watching. I also scheduled a few recording (DVR). Though functional, this should be enhanced. I saw no way to choose 'Only New Episodes' No way to prefer or force HD. No way to search for a series except to scroll the guide. In all, a great package for my Live TV watching on my Shield.

Not a user friendly app. No AC3 support hence got no sound for some channels comes with dolby. Cannot remember subtitle setting so need to turn subtitle on everytime. I think the problems were here for several years and hope that google can keep debug and make the app be more powerfully

Google Live Channels is wonderful... when it works. It is installed on my ChannelMaster DVR box. The first time I used it, I was ecstatic. I saw a guide, I could record shows, and I could play stuff back. Sadly, I am not the standard user who hooks up and runs forever. I am a digital nomad, living in a mobile home and travelling the country. My problems began when I left "home" and made my first move. I got to my new location, scanned for TV channels on the van antenna and was overjoyed to find 32 channels! Sadly, when I went to Live Channels and rescanned it also found 32 channels, but the guide utterly failed to populate. All I got was the Google Play channel. Nothing worked to get the guide to populate. Finally, I totally reset the box and it worked. "Harumph", i harumphed. Musta been a glitch. Things worked great for two days, then I moved again. Once again I rescanned for channels, and again nothing in the guide. My suspicion is that the box only REALLY scans the first time. I bet if I reset it would work again, but that is lame. I have not had much luck finding any support, which is the cause for my poor review.

Good Attempt. Doesn't show up in Apps list on Chromecast With Google TV. Should Bring up a Live Menu Tab like Youtube TV does, in my Opinion. Really needs a search by Channel name and Search by content name.

Version 1.21 had been working ok, until a week ago two major channels, on virtual 4 and 5 (actually, 48 and 39) changed their carriers. One of them is now on UHF 28 instead of 48. The tuner seems to find the new channels when scanning, and in the right place, but they do not appear in the guide after multiple re-scans and a full restart. Because of this, my Channel Master Stream+ no longer gets 4 and 5. Somehow, without any action on my part, my Tivo Roamio OTA (which uses a proprietary system instead of Live Channels) automatically updated itself and gets the channels fine. Hopefully, Google or Channel Master will fix this soon. Previously I was complaining that my Pluto channels were not integrated into the Guide. I struggled with that over a month ago, and no matter what I did, it didn't work. That seems to have been fixed, I'm not sure when. (10 minutes later) It's working now. I noticed an icon "add new channels" appeared on the home page. I clicked on that and it did another scan. It still didn't find virtual 4 and 5. So then I went back and did yet another scan. This time it got 62 channels (the very first time it had been 72) but now, 4 and 5 work.
