حمید هیراد از سن 6 سالگی به خوانندگی علاقه پیدا کرد و در سن 15 سالگی پس از اتمام هنرستان با ترانه و ترانه سرایی آشنا شد و پس از آن سبک موسیقی سنتی را انتخاب کرد و در کنار آن نیز به ترانه سرایی پرداخت. سپس با چند کار نیمه حرفه ای با گروهی موسوم به داروگ فعالیت هنری خود را ادامه داد.
