This used to get 5 stars. Now the navigation directions are vague and don't provide enough information (like go north or south on the freeway at the interchange) the visuals are worse, the navigation seems worse, and there aren't the options there were. Really sad the best nav app is now a below average one.

I, too, have used this app for years and each time the company goes through an acquisition/upgrade, it becomes less useable. The loss of the ability to use offline maps is a game changer. Maybe the problem is platform specific but for me, who doesn't have a cell phone but a tablet for navigation, it is back to dead reckoning.

Offline map is half a gigabyte, with no options to get a more localized map (which Google Maps does offer). Transit does not work offline. TTS options are very limited. Also if you accidentally set your navigation to no longer follow the device theme with a mistap, you have to dig into the setting to resync with your device settings. It also keeps telling me things are 10 miles further away than they really are.

Haven't tried the navigation on this version yet but, it used to be you could queue up map downloads and say go to bed and get up the next morning and have them all done.. now you can't. You have to do one at a time. And while a download is running if you switch away from the app and try to come back, you get stuck at the splash screen. Needs some work in that area.

"What were they thinking?" This was my go to app for navigation for many years. With the latest update, it has become totally unusable. I cannot even complete a download of a single offline map. Did anyone even test that app before pushing it out? Like others have said, admit the mistake, and bring back the old version.

I can't press "continue" after installation on my Android vehicle head unit after the update. Only a portion of the "continue" button is visible and I can't get it to scroll up so that I can press it and use the app. I regret updating. HERE went from my highly recommended off line GPS app to something I will not use again because I'm unable to get it to work. Boo!

This nav system has never failed me. Use it more than gmaps. This is first choice for navigation and city transit. *** UPDATE *** Well, after Here Maps was updated into it's current form, the performance of using it for driving directions is woefully awful. Would not recommend it for driving at this time. Try another alternative until this gets better in the future. The recent update provides some nice features one can really use. However, for driving directions -- no -- find another provider.

This app was amazing. Now it it is practically useless. I really tried with these latest updates but now the navigation has a bird's eye view and always pointing one way! Why did the navigation view change? Highway exits are replaced with street names!? Im confused as to why this app is changing so much for the worst, and it's becoming very frustrating as literally the only other viable choice is Google maps which nullifies the whole reason I sought Here: to get away from Google maps!

Was a decent navigation system until they updated and now everything is all messed up. It will now have you just going in circles. You can sit at a red light and I'll tell you turn right then it'll tell you to turn left and then it'll tell you to go straight. It's worse than I am it doesn't know where to go either.

Summary: Poor new UI makes map reading dangerous. No longer using the App. Pls fix Asap. Explanation: The new UI has poorly designed top and bottom menus (eg. twice the size of the menus in Google map, unnecessary bottom trip progress bar that I couldn't turn off) - leaving only half screen for the map area - a headache to read the map w cramped n distracting street name in map. I stopped using the app as it's dangerous to need to pay the extra attention to read the map while driving.
