The light sensor in your device is continually monitored and when the detection level is crossed, the counter is increased by one. Can be used to count each time a light source shines on the sensor. Or alternatively, shine a light on the sensor and count each time the light beam is broken. • Illuminance values in lux (lumens per square meter) or foot-candles. • Detect on rising or falling past the detection level. • Reduce double counts with optional no-count wait after detection. • Graph to show illuminance values. • Counts indicated on graph and with optional 'click' sound. Very cool. It does appear to work well; unfortunately it seems my phone light sensor is not designed to react quickly to flashing LED signal. Works great for low frequency such as broken-beam detection or when ambient light level changes (you could put your phone in the fridge and count how many times the door opens and closes), just not working to detect fast strobe frequency. Nice app!

Everything I need is here. But the problem is whenever I press the power button, it just stops counting. I need a counter which works even when the screen is off. NB: I turned off all the battery saver options

It has all the feature I need except for one. I find the clicking noise a bit short and soft when I use it as a counter for how many laps I ran. Is it possible to have a louder counter sound that reads out the number? Or other louder sound that indicate a reading was registered? Thanks.
