The user interface was a bit confusing to navigate at first. I tried to convert a 5 minute voice recording to text and it had not completed after 50 minutes. Uninstalling as quickly as I installed.

Google recorder is not available to every device yet (only Pixel) and only for English. --- And for non-English Notta works better than google transcribe, but still not good enough to have a meaningful transcription in real life scenario e.g. transcribing normal speech where the speaking doesn't do extra effort to sound clear.

This app requires internet connection for dictation. It doesn't matter if the channel is encrypted as it will be decrypted and analysed by someone else. There are other apps that do this offline, having privacy by design, not by blind trust. Someone else will be able to listen to and analyze your voice and background noise, be warned.

CAUTIONARY below. Accuracy was lower than acceptable and I found many gaps (mins.) of transcription missing throughout the final transcription text. An effective app for transcription cannot have so many gaps. You must subscribe 1st to get free trial. BEWARE of fine print; SUBSCRIPTIONS must be CANCELLED 24 HOURS BEFORE the end of your subscription period, meaning TRUE TRIAL PERIOD IS 2 DAYS "NOT" 3 DAYS!! Don't get locked into a 6 month charge by trying to use the full 3 day trial 😉.

Missed half the audio I tried out. Another app did much better with the same audio. Good UI and customisable, nice to be able to import audio files, but strange to tell it to transcribe - that should happen by default. I'd use it despite this, if only it transcribed well enough. Maybe it simply can't handle British regional accents. REPLY: I had that setting already. "BBC English" ie London/SE and the various regions differ hugely (vowels, intonation, even some consonants). Maybe I'll try again.

Very helpful application. Many language options for the Transcription and Transcription features work well. So far, this is the best google recorder Alternative for non pixel Android devices (although this application is paid and requires internet connection to use the transcription feature). This application will become famous soon (pardon my English)

Not for me I'm afraid. I'm not paying a subscription for something I'll rarely use, all I want is an app that will transcribe from my own audio files, which this apparently will do if you subscribe but I don't want to subscribe.
