The Lenovo™ PC Diagnostics app is designed to assist users with the display and debug of diagnostic information available on select Lenovo ThinkPad™ models (ThinkPad 13 2nd gen or later) and select ThinkStation™ (models P520, P720, P920). I downloaded this to diagnose a Lenovo Thinkpad POST beep code. Despite having microphone permissions, the screen to record the beep code hangs when trying to acquire the audio. No matter how few or many times I play the code, this app seems unable to capture it or even recognize it: it just listens - forever. The app itself has a lot of potential. It's very clear about how to use it and how to interact with the PC you're troubleshooting. But the core functionality I needed didn't work for me.

Worked exactly the way it said it would. I wish the error code were a little less cryptic, but l didn't have any problems with the app itself.

The interface of my thinkstation looked exactly as the app depicted. Nevertheless, The flashing lights never triggered the beep codes no matter where I held the phone. I could hear the beeps perfectly fine whenever it started up, but the app absolutely insists on triggering them itself. Which it fails utterly to do. I looked up the beep codes on an old-fashioned text document and solved the problem in minutes. Pointing people to this app is malpractice. It's perfectly easy to count beeps.

used the app, allowed the app access to the phone's recorder and it still had nothing. it loads fast and UI is simple enough to understand. could've been a Thinkpad or Rosewill keyboard malfunction, meh i dunno....

EDIT : Apparently only for selected models even though others use these tones so A+ Lenovo on using error tones and supplying no way of deciphering them. P. S. My model is one of the selected ones and it still didn't work. But the developer response is super helpful.

Lenovo ThinkPad T470 it didn't recognize anything, didn't tell me anything. DEAR DEVELOPERS, 99% OF THE REVIEWS STATE THE FACT THAT YOUR APP DOES NOT WORK. TAKE THIS APP OFF THE STORE SO SOMEONE WHO CAN BUILD APPS THAT ACTUALLY WORK CAN FILL THE GAP. FACE IT YOUR NOT VERY GOOD AT MAKING APPS

accuracy is low. took many tries to get the correct code. lenovo should get some help from chirp messenger team. (audio frequency modulated data)

Doesn't work. Doesn't recognize the beeps on a T470 from a Samsung Galaxy smartphone with permissions enabled.
