No clear understanding of what to do when problems arise. Sound from TV is not coming out of speakers. There is no trouble shooting suggestions. The drawing is very simple in the direction booklet. When trying to connect wi-fi woofer, a tone will tell you if you are connected. App asked if i heard tone. I pressed no. Then app said to manually connect. What a nightmare. Still ni tone. But tried to turn on music anyway. To my surprise I was connected even though there was no tone.

This app works with my SK6Y LG soundbar. The newer soundbar app from LG does not work on the SK6Y. I sure hope they extend the life of this app because the newer app is really bad.

I'd recommend doing as much setup as possible manually using the buttons on your soundbar. This app is buggy and, for me, caused really weird connection-switching problems that were difficult to diagnose. In addition, LG support was useless in assisting. If you are having weird connectivity problems, try factory resetting everything and then setting up manually. I'm generally a fan of LG soundbars and speakers, but this app is THE hurdle to get over. Good luck.

LG is killing this app. it now says download the LG soundbar app instead, but the sound bar app still doesn't work with my WK7. with no app my $200 LG smart speaker now has the same features as a $20 bluetooth speaker. good going LG.

The app is not working at all, and it seems like this is happening to almost everybody thats trying to use it... First of all it's a real hassle trying to connect the soundbar to the network, the app just goes back to main menu or crashes, but after maybe 15 tries at least the soundbar connects to wifi. The biggest problem is that after the soundbar is connected you cant find the soundbar within the app, it doesnt detect any speakers on the network at all. So you can not update the firmware or change any of the settings for the soundbar... I've tried setting up to 2.4ghz wifi, 5ghz wifi and wired ethernet connection as well. I've tried using several different mobile phones from different manufacturers too, but nothing helps. Recently the app has just started crashing on startup as well. The app is broken and has been like this for a long time. Just check the reviews on google play and apple store. I bought an OLED TV and a soundbar from you thinking that you were a good brand, but your lack of interest in customer service has left me with a soundbar I cant even update or configure properly. Why arent you fixing this? Your brand is getting tarnished, cant you realize that? I for one will not buy LG ever again. And after checking the reviews left by the other customers, I'm not alone in boycotting LG because of your abhorrent customer service. By the way; I work as a salesman for consumer electronics, and I will steer people far, far away from your brand as well. Are you going to do anything about this or not? It's getting a lot of 1 star reviews because setup is a nightmare as you have to connect to the speaker's WiFi hotspot before you can set it up on your network. By the time you can finish, the phone will disconnect because this WiFi doesn't have her access. So initial setup is a pain. It works better if you connect the speaker using Ethernet. Once connected it works fine but the speaker modes could use an explanation. Why is he blast default? Why not standard? What more works better for tv, music, etc? LG didn't put much thought into the speakers or the app.

after jumping through numerous hoops to get this app to connect to my sound bar and speakers, it disconnects in less than 5 minutes, and the nightmare begins again. LG themselves claim there is nothing wrong with the app, like any big company all THEIR problems are someone else's. a complete waste of time. the SK10Y and SPK8 are going back and will be replaced with products that actually work as advertised.

A surprise app update arrived, but the app is still as junky. SK10Y wired to my router, Moto G phone on wireless; I can directly cast to the sound bar, yet the app still can't see the bar after successfully connecting once or twice over several weeks. Menus are clunky, and what's with the horrible English verbiage? International co. like LG and they don't have a localization team?? Menu descriptions often read "It will...(function)" who has ever seen something like this from a top-tier brand!??

Works for me... usually. When I tried to connect this app to the speaker for the very first time, it wouldn't detect the speaker. I tried a bunch of stuff, and nothing worked. Then I tried again later that day, and that time it worked. The app has successfully connected to the speaker pretty much every time since then, but I have no idea what changed. Despite the app (eventually) working for me in my case, I trust and agree with everyone else's complaints. LG really needs to fix those issues.
