Where have all our drinking water fountains gone? They have been disappearing, one by one, from our public spaces, parks and offices. The WeTap app draws on the world's largest database of drinking water sources, enabling you to find the nearest drinking fountains, map new ones, and to report broken fountains so they can be fixed. Safe, free drinking water used to be common: we all used public water fountains and bottled water was unheard of. Now too many fountains are missing, dirty, or broken. The average American now drinks nearly thirty gallons of commercial bottled water per year, up from just gallon in 1980, creating plastic waste, wasting energy and costing a tremendous amount of money. It is time for a water fountain renaissance. Our goals including helping people get a drink, and to encourage public agencies to place new fountains in high demand areas such as downtown areas. V2.2.8 & V2.2.9 work fine except for the number of fountains shown, but what's the new local storage? Distributed database? I don't like the way pictures open in a web browser. The previous update was read-only & it's not sufficiently populated for that. There is, however, a slew of unattributed 'fountains' that have appeared during the down-time. -- Previously great fun, easy to use, reliable, pretty much everything you'd want from a crowd-sourced drinking water map in it's early stages

I think this is valuable information for the public so thank you for making this app. I do wish the number of fountains displayed was configurable and that the fountain pics displayed in app rather than calling out to a browser. Some parts of the UI are also a little clunky or not perfectly intuitive (login screen comes to mind).

No login screen avail and no way to select "menu" as instructions indicate. Can see map but have to manually move to where you live. (gps not feeding to app apparently)

If you're just browsing the map, it only shows 5 fountains at once (in all of Manhattan!... *which* 5 fountains it shows change as the map recenters)... unless it decides to suddenly show you 14 fountains(!?) or TELL you it's showing 5 fountains but really there are 0 on the map. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but I'm not going to thumb-type an address in the middle of a run. If I can't use the map, this is not a useful app.

This used to be a great tool for runners or bicyclists. The app has been dead for some time now. A note in the app description says it will be back in a few days, but that note has been there for weeks with no update.

Iv personally checked water fountains that it said were around me that I never knew about and it was true! I also love being able to add fountains that are not listed
