La aplicación móvil de la Dirección Nacional de Medicamentos de El Salvador, denominada “APP DNM” surge por la necesidad de acercar a la población y otros grupos de interés, con la labor de la Dirección Nacional de Medicamentos en cumplimiento a la Ley de medicamentos, que tiene por finalidad principal, salvaguardar a la población con medicamentos accesibles, eficaces, seguros y de calidad.

En este sentido, la APP DNM es una aplicación para comunicación y consulta de información con la Autoridad Reguladora de Medicamentos de El Salvador, la población salvadoreña, los médicos-establecimientos y la Industria Farmacéutica. Esta aplicación permite el manejo de información ágil para la oportuna toma de decisiones.
Con la APP DNM, puede encontrar una interfaz amigable que posee los siguientes beneficios:
• Búsqueda integral de precios de los medicamentos que se consultan: mediante esta opción, la APP DNM permite al consultante, realizar una búsqueda integral de los medicamentos de interés, con el fin de realizar una compra inteligente al mejor precio y en el establecimiento más cercano. Esta opción ofrece las siguientes opciones:
- Consulta de precios unitarios acorde a la regulación por Precio de Venta Máximo al Público (PVMP).
- Mapa con las farmacias más cercanas que reportan existencias del medicamento requerido. 
- Opción de productos alternativos con posibilidad de comparación de precios y disponibilidad.

• Denuncia ciudadana: la APP permite realizar denuncias con geolocalización y espacio para incorporar fotografías como evidencia instantánea de sospecha de falsificación, publicidad engañosa o precios no autorizados en medicamentos; todo ello aporta a la identificación de irregularidades y permite que la DNM como Autoridad Reguladora de Medicamentos, actúe de forma inmediata. 

• Alertas Sanitarias: la población en general podrá consultar para cualquier medicamento de su interés, si posee alertas sanitarias y ver el seguimiento del caso.

• Recetas: la APP DNM enlaza al portal en línea de recetas controladas, que permiten al médico la emisión de recetas de medicamentos controlados, que podrán ser visualizadas por los establecimientos para su despacho según indicación del médico.

• Denuncias por sospecha de Reacción Adversa a Medicamentos o Eventos Supuestamente Atribuibles a Vacunación e Inmunización: la App DNM permitirá a los profesionales de la Salud, enlazarse con el sistema de notificaciones administrado por el Centro Nacional de Farmacovigilancia, para reportar todas las sospechas de Reacciones Adversas a Medicamentos (RAM) o Eventos Supuestamente Atribuibles a Vacunación e Inmunización (ESAVI).

• Sitios de interés: la APP incorpora un listado de sitios de interés para la población en general, médicos y la industria farmacéutica; relacionados a la regulación de los productos estipulados en la Ley de Medicamentos.

• Centro de descargas: la APP permitirá consultar y descargar la normativa, guías y formularios, relacionados a los trámites que se ejecutan en la Dirección Nacional de Medicamentos para la regulación de productos farmacéuticos.
