This is a utility app intended for users who receive mangled text messages. Do you receive odd text messages where you recognize that the last part of the message has already been sent to you before or just feels out of place? Your device may be suffering from a known Android bug (#28697) where the last part of an old message may replace the last part of a newly received message. This app lets you view, export, and delete those text message parts from your device. Please report any bugs on GitHub. Only receives part of the orphaned texts; still misses a chunk of the messages. Also, no option to delete individual texts, you can only delete the entire database.

This app did exactly what it said it does until a recent android update. I agree with the previous reviewer; once I received an update to Android 4.4.2 it stopped deleting the orphaned texts.

Displays the orphaned texts but doesn't actually delete them. Used to work.

Same as most everyone else, Android 4.4 won't delete them, just shows which they are.

Looks like the orphaned messages have been deleted, but when you reopen the app, the messages are still there. Kit Kat 4.4.2

This could save you from a heap of trouble when part of a SMS gets sent out of context. Google don't seem to be in any hurry to fix this annoying issue, so thanks to the developer for uploading this app!
