Bought the pro version years ago, but now after several phone swaps, the codecs are no longer available, 0 star. I will continue to use it because there's nothing that I've found that records as crisp and clean as this app does. 5 star and beyond. And of course, .wav is far superior to mp3 at any quality. I simply transfer to my computer, then edit and if need be, convert to mp3. Sure wish they were still spring this, since it was a paid app.

Update: I've had this app since it first launched. It used to be great. It still uses the microphone better than any other app I've seen! I paid for full version and mp3 codec worked like a champ. Then thru phone updates, phone changes, etc. I had to keep re downloading it. Eventually I couldn't get the codec - like many others are having issues with right now. Please fix dev! Love this app when working right!

I have literally tried them all and this is by far the best. Multiple formats, even mp3. Great widgit, auto volume levels, and records when phone is turned off for discrete recordings. 2016 update: Sadly it has not been updated in a while, and the developer's website is no longer up, so if you paid for the MP3 plugin, it will not download anymore. No stereo recording either and I would like to on my new phone.

This used to be a great app. I bought the paid version, then changed phones to a new HTC One (M8). The app has never worked on my phone. I contacted the developer but received no response. I can't even start a recording. The buttons (lower left, upper left) seem to work but the recording just doesn't start.

I use this app for broadcast quality recording of interviews etc for radio and it's superb in terms of sound quality and variety of editing options etc. I find 128kbps MP3 gives me the best quality audio. IMPORTANT NOTE - I've recently done a hard reset of my phone and reinstalled this app. But it no longer supports mp3. Really disappointed and I'm downgrading my review as a result. I've no interest in using wav or any other options. Looks like I'll have to find a new recorder.

This was one of my first app purchases, and it's still mostly pretty good. I wish there were more effects or even a four-track version. One small problem I have is that I can't save anything I have slowed down or sped up. I can always do these things on my laptop, but it would be nice to do them in-app as well. Oh, and I never got the mp3 converter to work, ever. Otherwise, it's probably the easiest one for me to use, and I've stuck with it.

I don't know what's going on with this app but my anti virus software recognized this app as malware. I will update this upon further inspection. I love this app, but this is a problem. Also, why does this app need my call/device information? Update: deleted/reinstalled fixed the problem, I had an old version maybe? Everything's fine. But where's the new updates?! This app was the finest recording app out!

Worked great until I changed my phone. I can't install the MP3 codec. The link leads to a page with no download link. And the serious issue - that no e-mail support. I hope someone in Samalyse see and correct the issue, Because that's really good app.

Now whenever i open the program, i get "unfortunately take machine has stopped" intermediately on launch. Anything i can do to troubleshoot? I've depended on Tape Machine for years, sorry to lose it...
