Description says it's compatible with HID controllers. As if the writing if this review, I can say it doesn't, at least not with the Razer Kishi. The most I can do is use A, B, X and Y, no other button works, including sticks and D-pad. I'd say that's false advertising.

Poor controls and you ads at every turn. You can't play without an ad going off. Its the worst game when it comes to to download because unlike most games with ads, this one has more ads than gameplay. Do NOT download. And it's sad because this is one of my absolute favorite classic games that I can play over and over again. I just downloaded it to see what all the negative reviews were about and immediately deleted it because of how right the negative reviews were.

Great app. Sega Forever baby. However, not worth buying with only 5 levels. Ads can be a little frustrating but hey, cant complain too much because its free. its actually a brilliant strategy. Anyway, i finally ended this game after 28 years thanks to the save feature. Game does repeat but levels are much harder. so if u up for the challange, go for it. but ima pass

Altered beast is a great game, but there is 1 problem. When you want to save sometimes it doesn't let, Sega please fix this.

I used to play the original alterbeast video game for the Sega Genesis and the arcade version but the Marvel game is so much better I really should have gave this five stars when I heard about it online.

Was so excited to play this game and relive old memories. however the controls were so bad that it was basically unplayable. jump only works half the time If enemies come from both sides then forget about it, your game is finished. Just about impossible to escape without losing all your health. The enemies just beat the snot out of you and it's so frustrating I want to throw my phone across the room

I want to give you fine folks at SEGA one more star, but, can not. The controller support is wonky at the moment. Bluetooth controller, too. I uninstalled, but, am not demanding a refund, because, I'll be re-installing as soon as you fix the game. Altered Beast IS the classic pack in title with the system! So, I know that this will be resolved, because, Genesis does won't nintendon't!!! Fix the controller issue and let me know and I'll reinstall. All the others worked with my 8bitdo M30.

This game is a classic, in fact, I even owned it back on the Sega Genesis. We used to laugh at the steroid transformations and the lousy voice acting. Now the controls were bad back then, but it's even worse playing it on multi-touch, and I'm too lazy to connect my PS4 controller to my Xperia 1 just to play this game. That said, I'm rating it one star because this game actually requires like 2 MB of ROM storage, yet here on Google Play, it eats up 145 MB. It's ridiculous. Like 143 MB for ads?

Altered Beast is definitely a great beat-em up game all time. In this game you start as a centurion and is now dead, but the God Zeus ressurects you from your grave to rescue his daughter Athena from the sorcerer Neff. You have to collect three spirit balls to change into the beast, though their are five levels the beast forms to change into is the werewolf, the weredragon, werebear, weretiger, all the way to becoming the golden werewolf. In each level Neff changes into a boss.

I was extremely excited to see this-my fav Sega arcade game! I had 2nd thoughts though as I know from experience many console games don't fair well w/ tablet or phone controls. However w/ HID supposedly available-game on! Then came the let down: controller support doesn't work well or at all (tried multiple), in game controls are impossible & the game is just clunky at times. It's a great piece of nostalgia in 5 min intervals, but we should expect more from Sega.
