The remote part of this app used to control my new Sony XBR-49X800H TV. Now, while it still indicates that it's connected to said TV (via an Xperia XZs), none of the buttons do anything. The set's LED still flashes, however, when one is pressed. Not sure, but maybe a newer update for the TV broke it. Edit: even after a new, update, it still won't control the telly!

Remote works well. However, I would like to see a button on the smarrphone remote to turn off picture like my physical remote has. A standby mode button would be useful as well.

I use this app all the time to turn on my television, select an output and jump between my peripherals including my Sony Blu Ray Player. . A note to all electronics manufacturers, please stop making appliances with battery driven remotes. Instead develop apps like this one that we can run through our phones or tablets we easily recharge daily. This app would also be very much improved if there was a private listening option similar to the latest Roku app so that I can use the same headphones that I use to listen to music on my phone. I have yet to find headphones that will pair with my Sony XBR-55X800E television. I understand this app may not be offered in the Google Play store after the end of the month and there will no longer be updates. Let me know if I am wrong. You have a good thing going here, why drop it? Just improve it with the suggestions I have made.

Not compatible with my tv! I Spent nearly 1000$ on a new 4k Bravia tv and it turns out, it's one of the few models that the app DOESN'T SUPPORT. So why the hell is it even in the settings for the tv? Why imply I CAN control my tv with my phone IF I ACTUALLY CAN'T?! This is blatant false advertising built right into the device and the software. Either update the app to support all more current models of your Bravia android tvs or don't include it in the software of the tv itself!

I wanted a TV remote app and this app seems to work well with my Sony smart tv. However, there are a couple of wonky issues. First, it opens to a library of the videos on my phone. Why doesn't it open directly to the remote? This needs to be fixed. Also, all phones and tablets already have a video player. Why would anyone want to use your app to play their videos? Especially when your app plays them on my phone and not on the TV! I cannot give you a better rating until these issues are corrected.

OMG!!! Thank you!!! My remote just stopped working last week and I've tried everything I could think of to get access to my Sony TV. Nothing worked and I been without TV in my room for a week it's been torture. Then I found this app its connected to my TV but I had no way to select ok till my Boo told me to connect mouse to my TV. BAM!!! I have TV in my room and didn't have to purchase another Google TV remote. Thank you!!

this takes about 5-10 minutes to connect to the WiFi and TV, it just says "connecting" and they are on the same WiFi, which is very strong. When the app is finally connected, it's very glitchy and alwt starts on my photos. Also, when you lock your phone and turn it back on, or if you go to another app and go back, it takes 5 minutes to reconnect again. You're better off buying a remote

Needs development, looks like an Alfa version, connected to my 65xf9005 alright but when I tried features of the interface, TV stopped responding frequently, after trying couple of features in the program latency in response makes it completely useless. voice input stalls on screen, can send text to internet browser but cannot send enter, completely useless without enter, cannot send text to third party apps, please let me know when you are done with the development and release a version that is more like a complete app

decent app, my experience is to use as remote control for AV receiver. HUGE (but simple for Sony to fix) FLAWS : 1) should be able to decide startup / default screen as preference. I primarily/only want to use this as a remote control, yet every time the app starts up it wants to start with my pictures and videos. 2) The app doesn't respect your wishes or privacy, there is no way to limit or direct the folders it searches for you photos and videos. Otherwise, the convenience of having the AV remote on your phone and or an old tablet/phone left around to supplement the remote that inevitably gets lost is quite nice. Very responsive. A few changes listed above would take this app to the next level.

it gets better with every update. I just upgraded Sony firmware to Android 8.0. and had some hickups with voice and text input and had to remove and reload and disconnect all past devices. now it works well. looking forward to update 6.0. I hope it will have a guide on the app using a tablet. how about providing DVR function with a USB hard drive plugged into the TV, but I guess this would be limited with only one tuner on the TV.
