Sophos Authenticator is a simple and intuitive application that provides multi-factor authentication on your mobile device. It generates both time-based and event-based one-time passwords (OTP) according to RFC 6238 and RFC 4226. Once configured, 2-step authentication protects your account by requiring both your password and an additional code, thus adding an extra layer of security. The app will generate these codes for you in a convenient way, directly on your smartphone or tablet, without the need for Internet connection. Sophos Authenticator does not only operate with a Sophos account, but also with accounts from Google, Dropbox, Facebook, Github and all the other providers who implement authentication in this standardized way. Features: - Can generate both time-based (TOTP) and counter-based (HOTP) codes - SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hash algorithm supported - Add an account easily by simply scanning a QR code with your device camera or by adding it manually - Great flexibility: the time-step for TOTP accounts can be any number of seconds and is not limited to 30 seconds - It's possible to specify the desired time step (TOTP case) or counter (HOTP case) when manually adding a new account - Generated codes can be 6 to 8 digits wide - No Internet/network connection needed, everything happens offline - Copy any generated code to the clipboard for easy and fast access. There is a huge bug in this update and for some reason you have refused to take it down. Other people inadvertently update and stuck with the crash loop. Reinstalling doesn't help. We can't keep reinstalling the app as we wait for a fix. Revert back to the previous version so users can downgrade and work in peace while you work on the fix. C'mon!

App doesn't work. It scans the qr code adds my account everything is set up correctly and it starts showing a otp. However I cannot use this otp to log into my sophos firewall. So I use the app on an ipad instead with the exact same login and nothing else being different, the ipad app shows me a different otp to the one displayed on the android version, using the ipad otp I can log into the firewall successfully. The android version simply does not work. Please fix.

I'm using this app for quite some time now, and so far it was very reliable, does not require any permission to access the Internet, and I'm able to manage many 2FA services with ease. Things I miss: a way to backup my services and perhaps a pin protection

Sophos has demonstrated that they truly care about security by not requiring internet access or any permissions except camera access. Works great every time with the nine sites/apps I use it with. Would have given it five stars if I could reorder the entries. What say you, Sophos, about adding that feature?

Worst QR code scanning experience of all my previous app experience, really not easy to achieve that.

It is not opening and crashes after the new update. I already reinstalled app again few days ago with help of IT by getting new access. This is second time since Wednesday, March 21st. Please fix the issue. I have Android 10.

Plain and simple. Does the job with multiple options for encryption, code length etc. Also no internet access required which made me feel a little comfortable. One con. I needed to switch phones but I can't get the uri or any other method to transfer otps.

My email provider sent me to this app to enable two-step identifications so I gave it a try (am still trying to get into the email other than sms to my phone) App use instructions are ridiculous - the app screen says add your account: what account? what password? there is no setting to create one so... do I need to create a new account each time I use the app? I tried my email account and password (which would have been dumb) and fortunately that didn't work but apparently only because of restrictions on pw but.... there is no information about length of pw needed nor character restrictions so it's completely trial and error, which is frustrating at best. For example, when trying to create a password, the app will not accept the number 8 nor special characters such as ! ... really? Using the QR code seemed simpler so I tried using the QR code that my email provider created and the app cannot read/interpret it though it generates a code anyway (not accepted by my email provider) Another useless attempt at sw. I have a Nexus 6P made by Huawei....

Awful, latest updates causes app to crash constantly. Cant connect for work and wastes time. You can use any other 2fa app with sophos xg vpn. Just give up on this app.

Since the last update the app keeps crashing. I try to open it, and instantly crashes saying " Authenticator keeps stoping". Please repair it.
