Mostly fine, occasionally wont show your tickets in the app even though you have a confirmation email. This isnt disastrous as you can download your tickets from the email but its a pain to find and clearly doesnt work as it should so thats frustrating. Also will sell you "open return" tickets which are day returns, despite saying clearly "open return" on the ticket and reciept they are only valid for the first day, not the month as they should be. This is really bad as it can result in fines.

The app works fine. However Trainline's customer service is bad. I contacted them via email and then was advised to call them after I asked to change the seats they had given, which weren't together. The email support told me it was possible to change my seats, even showing me a seat plan with available seats. However when I called they said it wasn't possible. After going back and forth between the two, email support then blatantly lied to me by saying the available seats had now gone! Avoid!

If you simply want a day return you can use at any time, the app will still insist you pick an outgoing time. It is not obvious if what you are buying restricts you to that time. This is extremely ambiguous. The UI and UX are very poor. I ended up going to the local station to buy tickets in advance. Train companies in the UK can be particularly hostile to refunds, even if it is clearly their error; so what chance would you stand if poor app design resulted in buying the wrong ticket.

Best Train Ticket App for the UK! Allows a multitude of tickets explaining the exact details and restrictions of each ticket type. Their Split-save is a good initiative and great for those who are really needing to penny-pinch. There are just 2 things I don't really like. 1. The calendar isn't very good; the scroll doesn't always work and can be confusing to work with at first. A Normal calendar would be much preferred. 2. Validity times aren't shown for ticket types.

The app is decent but I have a massive issue with it. The no refund policy is garbage. My train was late by 1 hour I had to pay almost double for another train ticket to get to my university lecture on time. I understand not being able to refund the ticket when you purchase it by mistake, but when it has an hour delay you can't balame people for trying to get on other trains and for needing a refund.

This has always worked well for me. But they recently sold me a couple of tickets that their system shouldn't have. When using the first the guard accepted it was an error. When I contacted Trainline to change the next ticket with 10 days to go they wanted to charge me. I pointed out why it was their error and I just received silence. Since there's no other way to contact them I had to buy another £100 ticket.

Absolutely shocking app. Avoid like the plague - could end up costing you more as I've experienced a few times now. Had a number of problems with the app and it constantly changing my selections (like open return, e-ticket, day of return, etc.). CS not helpful either.

Used to use this app all the time, but the latest updates have made getting refunds or changing dates very tedious - most of the time you now have to get in contact with someone and will more than likely get a response by the time your journey has been and gone. Also the admin fees are now extortionate - to refund a £11.50 ticket, the admin fee was £7.50, leaving just £4 remaining. Would recommend other apps instead.

I've used this app to buy train tickets many times and it's always been straightforward. Book a ticket at home and just turn up and travel on the day. Easy. Only thing I don't like is the calendar situation. Just have a normal calender like every other app rather than that stupid scrolly thing.

Popular popular popups. Press a button tutorial popup. Click off a popup, guess what, a popup. "Did you hear about...."? I get that you have features, well done. Now the app is incredibly frustrating and let me guarantee that nobody reads those. There are simply too many. Please hire a ux team.
