Track storm chasers and report your own position through Spotter Network. Easily switch to the nearest doppler radar with a long press on the map. See weather observations on the METAR layer. Radar Alive! is suitable for storm chasers, professional meteorologists, emergency personnel, SKYWARN spotters and weather enthusiasts. It has a wide selection of US radar products (image types). NWS severe weather warnings are displayed along with a customizable low clutter map with cities, roads, counties and states. The display is suitable for both phones and tablets. Choose from a complete menu of radar products at multiple tilt angles, including composite and base reflectivity, base and storm relative velocity, VIL, hydrometeor classification (type of precipitation) and others. Spot tornadoes with the velocity and base reflectivity plots; view warning boxes and warning text; watch hail with the hydrometeor classification display. Radar Alive!'s precision images are generated from NOAA's NEXRAD Level III binary data (NWS weather radar). Carefully simplified maps minimize clutter on the radar display. With an AllisonHouse subscription, you get an alternate source of radar data, along with new products including lightning, watches, local storm reports, and SPC Day 1 convective outlook The serious user will appreciate advanced features, such as smart GPS usage to conserve battery power; network bandwidth conservation; and, maps optimized for weather radars. A full Spotter Network client is included. It can display the positions of all or selected active Spotter Network users. You can use it to automatically report your position to Spotter Network, and to make reports of weather events. When the main app is not in use, it can run in the background, where it can be controlled from an icon in the notification bar of the device. Radar Alive! was written by a veteran storm chaser for the serious meteorological user. After PYKL disappeared, I installed Radar Alive sometime last year but didn't use it much until last week. I'm a storm chaser and mainly use GRLevel3 on my laptop, using Allison House feeds. I've got to say, over the last week I used Radar Alive on my phone much more and it is quite feature rich! The detailed AH radar feeds (which use level 2 data if I recall) are superb, better than what I get in GRLevel3 on my laptop. Take the time to customize the app. It is very flexible. I recommend.

Be aware, that even after purchasing this app you will still have to become a member of the allison house (for around $30 a month)to get all the features. Which is very misleading and dishonest.

Radar Alive is the best radar app I've used, and by a pretty significant margin. It's lightweight, quick to load, and manages to be both versatile and accessible. The controls are fluid and intuitive. The interface isn't flashy: RA's priorities are clearly centered on meeting the needs of the many kinds of people looking for a reliable mobile radar. It's a tool, not a style-piece. Updates are prompt for such a small project. Super grateful this app exists. Thanks much to those who work on it.

This app has very good potential, but lacks in detail. The radar appears good and option to get fast updates as they become available. Option to setup different layers for different situations is excellent. Similar to the Pykl3 app, which is what many are looking for. Map display, such as roads, are very poor and appears old. Radar data is very pixelated and appears old style, also lacks smoothing option. Hope there is some upgrades and improvements soon.

Quit working with latest updare... All radars are either showing waiting for data or not available. Tried several different locations same result. Used to be a super app now useless Please fix. Update... As of this morning all is working again. Not sure what was going on yesterday but it appears to be fixed

One of the best. This app gives everything: reflectivity...many modes, type of precipitation, amount of rain, storm tracks...plus much more. Viewing is highly customizable. Very accurate and easy to use after a 15 minute review.

Been using this for years....great app. Chased on Moore with this and PYKL. Never a problem on various Android devices. Lightweight enough on bandwidth to be useful when cell data is thin out there. Keep up the updates, and glad to see a responsive app dev. like you guys.

Good radar app. The normal radar view doesn't have the resolution I need. However, the wind velocity display is excellent! I now use this almost exclusively for the relative wind velocity data, during severe weather events.

this app is very good excellent quality great service willing to work are you even I had an issue with one of my tablets it wasn't their fault found that it was a tablet fault they make suggestions and so does the dealer returning the tablet I think when people reach out from the company like this and help you they have a real good attitude towards their product which I think is fantastic
