No need to change your T-Mobile voicemail number or to reconfigure your voicemail forwarding - Visual Voicemail activates for free at first launch. You can also upgrade to Voicemail to Text for a small monthly fee and receive all your voicemails transcribed into text directly in the application inbox, as an SMS message, or to an email address.

T-Mobile Visual Voicemail may use infrequent, free SMS messages to communicate with the Voicemail server.

An Unread Messages widget is now included with T-mobile Visual Voicemail. On most Android devices you can add the Visual Voicemail widget by long pressing on any free space on your home screen, selecting 'Add Widgets', and choosing the Visual Voicemail widget from the alphabetical list.

I'm not sure if it's the App or t-mobile's system, but either way the App is completely worthless. After a first few times of working (slowly) it has never worked since, even after completely re-installing a few times. Now a call will come in and eventually (sometimes doesn't show up for several minutes) an alert will show up in 'alert notifications' on my samsung, with an 800# voicemail message. If I clear the alert messages, the voicemail message goes away and I have no way of getting to it (No, I'm not saving an 800# so I can call into my own voicemail every time I get a message. That would be stupid!, hence the app...), so if I don't see it, or clear notifications, I have no way of knowing if or who left a message. I chatted with an agent a few wks ago, who did not offer anything in the way of a solution (other than re-installing) or even acknowledging that it's a problem. So, way to go t-mobile for the quality of this app/service and the inability to fix it. Wish I had Sprint's back, it was flawless for years.

Terrible!!! The app supposedly did an update. Now it is hung up in an endless loop. Don't bother uninstalling and reinstalling it either. Then there is customer support. You get switched from here to there without any resolve. But I got a thank you for being a customer for 17 years. Either fix the app or give me back the old one that worked.

The app is broken. Too bad it was a good app when it was working. Mine stopped working on May 4th 2021 and I just spent an hour trying to reactivate it. You can see in the other reviews and I can confirm it does not work anymore. Just tried uninstalling and re-installing it. Don't waste your time. It's gone. I bit shocked that T-mobile would let a once useful app like this break and not do anything to fix or replace it.

This was great, but it hasn't worked the last 2-3 months. It gives me a dialog box that says we have detected a new sim card and confirming your account status. Check back soon...well it's been at least 2 months and it's still checking. I've deleted reinstalled, rebooted my phone, cleared the cache, called T-Mobile's tech support, etc. And it still doesn't work. My phone is Android 11. It notifies me of voicemail every few seconds that I can't get to.

I had Sprint. When we had to merge, the voicemail was one of them. Sprints was great!! This one? It's trash!!! It never syncs, CONSTANTLY getting alerts, I have tried turning them off it doesn't work. You can't do a thing in this app. I have to call the number to even get my voicemails!! Why would I pay to get more in this app when it doesn't even work?

Same experience as @Jeff Wilson's review. It also shouldn't be called "Visual Voicemail" since you have to pay monthly to see your voicemail, as in voicemail to text. I'm also confused as to why I have to sometimes listen to messages by dialing a number and pressing 7 or whatever to delete. But then they also show up on my app. And some don't. Frustrating.

This used to be an amazing app. No longer did I need to call my voice mail. I could just tap, play and delete messages, but that was then and now this app is just garbage that never gets fixed. Infinite syncing which goes no where. Sometimes it just doesn't delete messages and rarely stays up to date meaning you could be missing out on important messages. I am really hoping one day someone decides to fix this app. But I won't hold my breath considering how long it has been busted.

Does not notify about messages. I had several voicemails as old as 5 days and not a single notification. I missed very important message about a job offer! The app is very slow. I have been using it for years. The initial launch and first years were great. Then it was"improved" and updated. Since then it was only downhill...

Just bought a new phone at the begining of the month. Same plan only thing that changed was the phone, and that it is t-mobile and not sprint. Has not worked since day one, and the phone came installed with it. All it says is something about a new sim card and needing to verify?? I have Uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times and still not working. Now I have to try and figure out how to call my voice-mail or something, which I have luckily never had to do my whole time owning a phone.

This app is pretty pointless. You have to pay an additional $4 a line to have "visual voicemail to text". Sure you can technically still use the app, but it's just going to show a phone number and a play button. I guess it's slightly more convenient than having to call and unlock your voicemail, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about this app.
