Tect O Trak is an Android Gps track and finds recording application. Specifically designed for metal detectorists, by a detectorist. This is the app we were all waiting for. I got fed up with waiting, so I had a go at developing it myself! I hope you like it. Your feedback and support will be greatly appreciated. This application allows the user to track and record their movements within a predefined area. Searches can be saved and resumed. Additionally, you can also mark/ revisit find spots, and make detailed photo and text records of your finds. You can also view and interact with your files on Google Earth using the Kml export tool. This is caused by a documented defect in the Android 5.0 'GPS Lock' coding, and affects a number of devices. My impressions are very good, and can understand why it's so popular with serious detectorists. Update 03/01/21: Thank you Mark for your comments and support, and for currently investigating options to disable haptic feedback - understanding that not all devices are so affected. Lovely tool, but suffering GPS accuracy issues. This is more likely my device setup, so I will appreciate any advice. Pixel 2xl. Latest droid. Advanced positioning on (i.e. uses mobile, WiFi and GPS to position). Should I disable the mobile network positioning part?

How to start recording? Pai for the app, but in the settings menu the start recording button is not accessible. Why is that?

Its a great app, I love It. The one thing I would change, or add, Is to be able to tell distances as your outlining your search area. On OnXhunt for example, It shows a map key with distance and when your setting up your perimeter or area, Its really helpful to be able to guage distances. Or else your left with having to manually walk the perimeter of your areas so your search zone is correct or In the correct location.
