WHAT IS DUAL N-BACK
Dual N-Back exercise has been shown to improve working memory and fluid intelligence. Fluid intelligence refers to the ability to reason and to solve new problems independently of previously acquired knowledge. The idea is to keep track of two individual things while playing: flashing square's positions and letter sounds.

You will advance to your current top performance level quite fast and it takes some persistence to get to the next level.     It took me a while to stabilise on a level ( ~ 4.x ). I decided to put in a minimum of 50 games/day. My average has started increasing again after 4-5 days. I am working on accuracy and mental endurance. Possible ideas (1) Vary the layout (2) Incorporate a mental math puzzle that only displays the question&numbers briefly with configurable time to respond (3) Option to get mid-game distractions - ie. deal with then return?

    Really nicely put app. But it could be improved to include more things like images,human facial expressions,colours to be more flexible to include 3nback ,4n back etc

    The gameplay seems simple enough on paper and it would be if the tutorial was much more clear on it. Not only does the game expect too much from the player, but the gimmick is not something that really impacts your memory or intelligence too much. It would have made more sense for players to recognize sequences based on letters and square positions, instead of having to figure out pairs that aren't pairs at all. So really the game comes off pretentious at best, and guilt tripping at worst.

    Will give 4 stars. Because there are ads and those interrupts my gameplay experience and I don't like that about it. Except that, everything else is fine. Improving my brain is in progress.

    I appreciate this, but it needs some refinement: • There's no feedback as you play. I thought it didn't work on my device. The buttons should highlight when tapped. • The instructions were obviously written by someone who couldn't imagine what it was like _not_ to understand the game. (This is why developers use technical writers—they can describe the process of learning the product.) And all caps? Hard to read, looks like shouting. With these improvements, it'd be great.

    I really enjoy this game. After two weeks and seeing my 3-Back performance improving, I had to buy it and make it mine. Just a quick editorial comment. I read other reviewers (not mentioned to protect their identity) mention the game switching from 3-Back to 2-Back, &c., and someone asking about the "chunking" strategy. Neuroplasticity works best when the gameplay is dynamic, as per memory performance. I know one of the developers mentioned chunking is good; true, only when accuracy is low :)

    I don't even understand that how should I play as well I think its the fault of the game tutorial literally.If u are already experienced this type of game then go for it..it will good to you undoubtedly.

    I would like this game so much more if I could choose what n equals instead of it moving me up just to move me down. At least let me complete more than one game on that level before you consider it mastered. The bouncing back and forth takes the fun out of it and I've already gotten rid of this game after less than a day.

    Question about strategising. Is the following is actually a strategy and do I need to avoid it? Let N = 3, the game starts. I need to memorize a chunk of 3-inputs ([a,b,c]) and then match incoming inputs with memorized one, simultaneously filling a new 3-input ([c, b (hit button), c (hit button)]). Than forget previous 3-input ([a,b,c]) and compare new inputs with just memorized ([c, b, c]) and so on. Is it OK to do so, or I actually need to just answer intuitively? This "strategy" is valid for all N and it's making task a lot easier for me, because it is easier to go from chunk to chunk than trying to remember what was N steps before every new input.

    Updated review and once worked out how to ask the dev a question will email them. Nice clean interface and audio, however it is annoying bouncing from N2 to N3, If this app offers (even on a paid pro version) being able to stay on one level, ie N2 or N3 in order to practice: this would be the best overall n back game available. Better than dual n back pro!
