Works better than expected. It has several feathers and options. Nonetheless, you have to familiarize yourself with the app to understand how it really operates. Some functions works better than others, but it’s definitely worth having the option to totally control your home audio and video systems remotely.

Problems with mesh networks - if your phone and Yamaha speaker are connected to different nodes on the same mesh network, the phone would not be able to see the speaker in the app. You can't control the speaker until you reconnect the phone to the same node that the speaker is connected to. If the speaker is hardwired, this problem does not exist.

Works as advertised. Using it with R-N602, YSP1600, WXA-50, WX-010. Sound sync works between them, no interruptions. I see some complaining about interruptions, can be caused by wan or lan weak, not by devices themselves. Mine work flawlessly and I have some of them for years by now.

Connection breaks once every 3-4 songs even though the wifi is perfect, at which point your options are either to restart the song or kindly f yourself. App won't even load if your streamer isn't on wifi (even though it has wired connection as an option) and doesn't communicate anything. Other than that, terrible user interface, lack of basic features such as seek and fast forward, just a disasterous app altogether. Never touching a Yamaha device again.

I have 2 music cast 20s and a wxad-10 connected. All of them randomly drop their connections at any time despite wifi being impeccable. It is very frustrating to get it to work again when it drops and there doesn't ever seem to e a reason. Why spend lots of money on a good sound system only to randomly lose playback constantly because of a poorly integrated app?

Poor. Did work fine initially but now about 3 months in the app only works on one device at a time. So if I want to connect using my ipad and phone I have to redo the setup on either which is really annoying and frankly terrible in this day and age. Yamaha must fix this

MusicCast Not really Compatible with Google or Amazon or Apple. Unless you use Spotify, no support to cast to it, drops airplay apple music never connects blue tooth. No upgrades in at least a year of owning this. It sounds great if you can get anything to play to it.

The connection between the app and speaker has been awfully unreliable. I have the wx-010 and a strong internet. Factory resetting the speaker doesn't help. Yamaha needs to rethink this whole music cast setup process. Until they come up with a better way, I'm going to avoid buying any new equipment from yamaha.

Musiccast WXA-50 has some issues... 1) even if display volume levels in percentages is checked, it still shows volume Iin dB. 2) the left and right balance control feature does not fully work. When on 100% on either left or right channel, sound still plays from the opposite channel.

Frustrating... Everything is painful to set up, to get working, and when you finally have everything OK, a few weeks later it loses connection for no reason and you have to start again
