Very reliable app for people who want to rent cars especially at the last minute without having to reserve 24 + hours prior. There are only 2 negatives to zip car in my opinion. The first is their selection of cars and unfortunately you cannot rent a pickup truck, SUV, convertible or luxury car. The second negative is that zip car only rents cars in the capital cities of each state. I know so many people without cars that would rent a zip car all the time, but unfy they live in other cities.

Zipcar is TERRIBLE. I signed up because I wanted to rent a car to bring my dogs to the beach. Every time I tried to reserve a car, it kept giving me an error message, saying to try again in a few minutes. So the renting a car portion doesn't work, but it managed to charge my credit card immediately - funny, that part of the app works perfectly. I called the customer service number for help and sat on hold for over 30 minutes without speaking to anyone before I finally hung up. When I sent an email to cancel my account because I couldn't get the app to work, they said there is an application fee of $25.94 that they refuse to refund, even though I never used the app because it wasn't working. NO WHERE in the sign up process does it explicitly state there's an application fee of $25, otherwise I would have said forget it. The contract (which is about 50 pages long and they know people aren't going to read it all) vaguely mentions an application fee but never states how much it is. When you apply for an apartment, the leasing agent tells you how much the application fee is BEFORE they run any reports. Too bad this app doesn't show the same courtesy. Don't bother with this app, it sucks and their customer service is even worse.

Mediocre. Very easy to find available cars but not good at knowing if cars are damaged.or if there are other issues. Also, there.is not a good option for having quick access to help if you are on a ride and encounter.a pressing problem. There isn't enough competition in the car sharing industry in NYC which is what allows zipcar to continue to be mediocre. I have had some good experiences with them and some.really not good experiences.

I have had no problems with the app but the service is something different. A number of times the gas card didn't work and I wasn't reimbursed because the gas station didn't adjust for daylight savings time so the time on the receipt was an hour different than when I had the car. Be careful they will use any and all excuses NOT TO REIMBURSE you for gas. The main problem is other inconsiderate members who don't return the car on time or leave the car a mess.

Website states register, get approved and start driving within minutes. Signed up, found my account was still under review after a while and called customer service who said it'll take 3-7 business days to review. False advertising. They also took my $25 application fee, non-refundable apparently even though my application isn't an application if I'm no longer applying. Straight up scam - DO NOT USE

Charged $30 and $9 for a monthly fee even though I didn't use the service and cancelled the account the same day I signed up. Wouldn't suggest singing up unless you've taken into account all the total charges even before renting the car.

App sporadic. Last 4 rentals spent 30 minutes of rental time of each rental trying to get app to lock or unlock vehicle. Does work well in garages. Its frustrating.

Great service and the app is fairly easy to use save for occasional connectivity issues when returning cars and you can only report certain things at certain times. In terms of the service, ZipCar is a great alternative to rideshares and makes living in the city without a car a whole lot easier (espeicalku when parking around here is like $350+ per month!). It's easy and fairly low cost to be able to grab a car to go out for an afternoon, or to use for moving large items every once in a while.

Convenient yet still bull💩. Canceled my reservation on me. Less than 12 hours before. I made other plans and stuff. This is ridiculous. Now I need to scramble to get other means of transportation. All other nearby bookings are taken and the app wants me to go to literally cross state lines to get a vehicle. Meaning I'll need to pay for tolls and ezpass. Gee. Thanks......
