To implement several (optional) features, Glimpse Notifications may need to turn off the screen. By default no special permissions are needed for this. To improve security or for a better user experience you may give the app device administrator or accessibility service permissions. PROBLEMS ON SOME DEVICES Android devices are quite diverse and not all functions work equally well everywhere. The FAQ (English) contains a lot of hints how to configure this app for devices by Sasmung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus, ... HUAWEI, Xiaomi (MIUI) Glimpse Notifications only shows the lock screen, it doesn't render the notifications. To see notifications from, for instance, your texting app, your need to open system settings and allow the texting app to show notifications on the lock screen. SAMSUNG EDGE LIGHTING To avoid conflicts, it is recommended to disable Edge lighting or at least remove Glimpse Notifications from Edge lighting. REQUIRED PERMISSIONS • BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE: Core permission to have the app being informed about new notifications. • WAKE_LOCK: needed to turn on the screen OPTIONAL PERMISSIONS • BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN: to close and lock the screen • BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE: can be given to close the screen with perfect user experience (only Android 9+) • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: to determine the duration of custom notification sounds. • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: implement double-tap to lock (only until Android 7) • VIBRATE: recurring notifications can be indicated using a vibration pattern EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY Nullgrad Apps cannot be held responsible for damages happening by using this app. This includes, but is not limited to, notifications being missed or misinterpreted due some function of Glimpse Notifications.

My reviews can be critical, but not for this app. I've been desperate for a way to have my display wake to see incoming notifications, and this app does just that! It's an honest app, too. It didn't sneak in unwanted features, abuse permissions, or hide telemetry. It's wonderfully unobtrusive, efficient, and I have yet to encounter a bug/issue. The programming is solid and the app is simple to use. It's free, no ads, and the developer even appears to provide support. Wow! Thank you so much!

I've used this app for years to turn on the display from Tasker. It works flawlessly. There's a new Display Unlock action in AutoInput but it doesn't work on all devices. I'm sure this app can be more useful. Nevertheless. This app remains a must have for me.

I've been using Android phones for years and I always felt that there was something wrong with the notifications. I realized that the screen wouldn't wake up when I revcieve a notification, unlike the iPhone. I can't believe that I hadn't stumbled upon this app before.

This is a life saver for samsung phone bearers..as samsung doesn't have the simple feature of showing up notifications on lock screen... amazing app and thanks for the free version..keep it up

I recently purchased the Samsung galaxy a32 5g.. and noticed that my screen wasn't waking up when notifications came through.. I had to search on Google about it and mentioned this app. I've only just downloaded it.. so far so good. Will update in about a week or so if its still working.. I just hope it doesn't drain my battery lol

I'm so grateful that I found this app. I have a Samsung Galaxy A11, and all of my notifications were being delayed while my screen was turned off/locked. I tried everything I could think of and this is the only thing that worked. Thank you.

It stoped working so I uninstalled and installed it back, now it works again. Maybe it was something to do with those phone updates messing up the configuration or something, I don't know
