Planet Finder is an Astronomy Compass providing quick orientation of visible planets in your night sky. You'll get: · Astronomy compass displaying the positions of the planets, the Sun, the Moon and Pluto · Astronomy compass with the 10 brightest and the 10 closest stars · Real time information about the planets and stars · 3D display of Mercury, Venus, Moon , Mars, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto · 3D display of most Solar System satellites Extremely easy! Just launch the application to obtain an instant overview of the planets surrounding you. You're in the middle of the screen, on Earth, and the planets are being displayed around you. If a planet is above the Compass Ring and is highlighted, it's visible. If the planet is below the Compass Ring, towards the center of the Earth, it is shadowed and below your horizon. Navigate to the stars just be touching the spaceship. With a simple screen touch you switch to a text view listing all planetary positions. (Direction, altitude and the phase of the inner Terrestrial planets and the Moon) Hit the 3D Planet icon for a detailed 3D view of planet/moon texture. (The paid version, Planet Finder +, comes with an advanced Augmented Reality Camera: Just point your phone to the sky and Planet Finder + will instantly switch to Augmented Reality Mode. Spot planets and stars through your mobile camera, take a snapshot and share via facebook, email, twitter or MMS! Interact with the Augmented Reality View by activating its Player. Play, pause, rewind and fast forward the Solar System. This will render the trajectories of the planets and the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.) If you have a new smart phone, it most likely has a Gyroscope Sensor. Planet Finder uses this sensor in combination with your accelerometer and magnetometer. This app was so inconvenience and didnt work also it was creepy and wanted my locatoin. it also wanted my address and a whole bunch of other stuff like it was going to track me and that's when I installed the app also I tried it a couple days later and I gave it a my I didn't give it my real address but it finally let me actually use the app and it doesn't even find planets it just says that very disappointed

This app may not look so appealing however it is very accurate as of where the planets and stars are. It knows your location and exact time zone so you are always getting accurate locations of planets and stars.

It sucks, it doesn't show where planets are in relation to my phone just a general look at one side of the earth. I want to hold my phone up and see where they are to be able to know where to position my scope for my kids to see.
