FLAGSTACK is a game based on GPS coordinates which can be played worldwide & for free after registration via app. Players are searching for physical or virtual items on the map. These items are predominantly bound to GPS coordinates. If players arrive at these coordinates, these items can be gathered and players get credited virtual points on their account. Items remain on the map for other players; the collected items are highlighted as "found" in player's account. The more points a player collects, the higher rises his player's level. In the lower level few points are required to level up. The required number of points rises with every achieved level.

Great app, until I realised that you are forced to have endless Jumper Flag notifications unless you buy premium. It's the first time I've seen stopping notifications put behind a pay wall.

A terrific capture the flag game. It can be played anywhere in the world. Many metro areas have active players. The many flag types add interest. There are several Facebook groups to provide support.

Ever since the last upgrade it has been very frustrating trying to use this app. Even though my geolocation is turned on it can't find me, and then the app crashes. This happens 9 times out of 10, and has seriously affected my gameplay. So frustrating! It used to be much better.

The app is small, lightweight, does not drain your battery a lot. It does not require constant in-app purchases to keep playing. It does require a constant data connection, for updates, but uses little data. It will take advantage of offline Google Maps too. As to the game, it's partly a virtual treasure hunt, it's partly a sport; a great way to get out and get exercise, ideally with friends. You need to get near to each virtual flag to capture (cap) it. (All flags stay on the map for others to cap.) Flags are already deployed all over the world; win more flags just by playing, and earn points when others cap your flags. If you are unlucky enough to start to play somewhere there are no flags yet, then it's still worthwhile to start playing, with a friend. Each player gets a bundle of flags to deploy, around their area, and each play day, another free one, and another free for every 10 found, so easy to grow the map in towns or parks. More players boost the fun. As to costs, it's practical to play for free, with infrequent in-app adverts, BUT a cheap annual subscription provides many benefits, which include free special flags, extra daily benefits and no adverts in-app.

Great concept, but the incessant notifications are insane. And even worse, you can't turn them off unless you pay for a premium account. I weighed the options, and decided to uninstall the app. Can't deal with the insane notification tones, and I refuse to be held to ransom over an option that shouldn't be 'premium only'.

I don't leave reviews. But after download this game. Witch actually looks like a good game. Realised that enyone who signed up could see my address. As I hadn't put my address in at enytime this is a little scary.

A fun game that you can play even if you're the first in your area. They make it easy to keep playing even if you don't want to or can't spend money.
