Have you ever wondered which notification you are receiving when your mobile phone gives an alert, but you've kept it in your pocket, on a table or in another room and you are too busy/lazy to pick it up?

Presenting NotifiCon, a notification sound manager app which customizes the sounds that come along with a notification alert. With NotifiCon, you can identify which app's notification has arrived without even picking up your device!

This is a notification sound manager app which provides notification customization by allowing you to configure sounds/ voice alerts for any apps you use.

Note: For those who are not hearing notification sounds or overlap with default sound, and high memory usage, please try cleaning your cache, redundant files, and memory with a cleaning app. Sometimes, the app may not work in case of low memory.

Main features:

1. Configure the notification sound from a list of available options for each app's notifications on your device
2. Configure a special voice-based notification alert for notification alerts from any app (For example, you can configure your Whatsapp app to say "Whatsapp", when you get a Whatsapp notification)
3. Set a schedule- days of week and time interval for the corresponding customized notifications to play, for any app
4. Block out individual apps from giving notification sounds/ voice alerts so that you are not unnecessarily disturbed from your routine (notifications will still show up on the notification bar of the device)
5. Selectively allow notification sounds/ voice alerts when your device is in silent / vibrate (zero volume) mode, for individual apps (disabled by default)
6. Set the volume level for all such notification sounds/ voice alerts
7. Temporarily block out configured alerts in two clicks - very useful during meetings (notifications will still show up on the notification bar of the device)

So what are you waiting for? Try NotifiCon- the notification sound manager app, right now!

Notes:

1. NotifiCon does not create new notifications, rather it provides sound/voice alerts to accompany other apps' notifications.

2. During first time installation, the app shows a few things before opening main screen. These include permission requests, notification access requests, and write settings requests. Please grant these to allow app to perform its functions and then press the back button (if applicable).

3. Voice notification might show an initial lag, but will be prompt subsequently.

4. Currently, voice notifications are supported only in English.

This app uses the TTS engine installed on your device for generating voice notifications (TTS engine can optionally be changed)

This app has been tested with below TTS engines and some associated voices.

1. Google TTS engine (Installed by default on most Android-supported devices, free to download and use)
2. Samsung text-to-speech engine (Available only on Samsung devices)
3. eSpeak TTS (App and voices are free)
4. Vocalizer TTS (App is free, but voices should be purchased)
5. Acapela TTS (App is free but voices should be purchased)

Disclaimer : This app is not associated with any of the above mentioned TTS engines. Using them with/without any voice/app purchases under corresponding TTS engines may enhance customization and performance of this app, but such purchases are not associated with this app. It is hence advised to try out the voice samples by hearing samples first through corresponding trial version of those TTS engines, should you decide to make a purchase of such voices or TTS engines.

Works great. I have an alarm app that only used the default device sound. Almost all notifications used the same sound. Confusing!! Now the alarm has a unique sound. I, too, had some problems getting it to work. I reinstalled and was careful to allow all the permissions. Then it worked. I don't know what I did differently. Good app. Just what I needed.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just switched from iOS to Android. I'm mostly very happy with Android, but not so much with managing notifications, where iOS is way ahead. I was getting bombarded with sounds from apps where I wanted a notification, but no sound or a different sound. Notificon let me turn off sounds for pretty much all apps and then put in the sounds I wanted from Notificon for the few things where I did want sounds. There are a few things that could be even better. 1) There is a decent YouTube video and some help text, but it doesn't really explain how Android notifications work and how best to use Notificon. For example, I'm keeping the standard notifications for calls and texts because I can customize them per-contact, which Notificon doesn't support. But I turned off the other standard notifications. 2) It would be nice if the volume could be tweaked for different sounds to balance them out. I still like the overall volume control. For example, the text to speech is louder on my phone than the other sounds. 3) More than one time window in the schedule (e.g. before work, after work). Shared schedules for multiple apps.

I like the app, it's definitely what I was looking for, a way to assign specific notification sounds for different apps. the only thing I don't like or understand is why the volume on my notifications gets turned off without my doing it. this seems like a glitch. what reason would there be to silence notifications on an app that changes the notification sounds. I'm confused.

I'm very excited to have found this application. Tried to configure notifications on a paper application basis has been extremely difficult to find in an application. Is that plication has the ability to configure either Voice or unique notification sounds on a per application Level. As such there are different notification sounds that indicate different levels of importance for the notification. This is very meaningful for the end-user. I highly recommend this application!

Very cool app. Just installed it but it is exactly what I was looking for. Now I can assign individual sounds to apps that don't have those settings themselves. I think some people might think this app doesn't work because of the set schedule field, it is an inclusion filter instead of exclusion filter. It got me at first, too. please add a way to export settings.

This is the only app I can find that lets you change the notification sound for different apps. Just what I was looking for. Seems to work fine so far. I don't understand why there aren't more apps that do this. UNFORTUNATELY, hasn't been updated in years and greater control can now be achieved by manually setting app notification sounds.

I like that this app attempts to fill the void left by Android's omission of being able to assign specific notifications to specific apps (in cases where those apps don't have that ability in the in-app settings - which is many apps). But there's a huge, virtually deal-breaking flaw - the app breaks silent mode (Android 9, Pixel 3 XL). For example, if I have my phone's volume in Silent mode, every time I receive a notification from one of the apps to which I've assigned a custom tone, the volume setting goes from Silent to Vibrate, and stays there. No combination of settings and changes helps, so I believe it is a bug. Example: I assigned a specific tone for ESPN notifications. What should happen: If my phone is in silent mode, I should receive the notification but silently. What actually happens: I receive the notification with a slight vibration, and the phone volume mode switches from Silent to Vibrate (icon with phone vibrating). So my phone vibrates for other incoming notifications thereafter, even those I haven't assigned with this app. Very frustrating. When I uninstalled the app, the problem stopped - incoming notifications would not switch the volume mode from Silent to Vibrate (but I lost the custom tones the app enabled). When I reinstalled, the problem came back.

This app tries very hard to provide functionality that Android should provide, and it does a better job than many competitors, but some aspects are clunky. The volume control is buried in General settings, and the app apparently can't just use the Notifications volume in Android, so you have to open the Notificon app to adjust volume. The voice option doesn't allow you to type custom text to read aloud, it just has three preset options. And, most regrettably, there is no Vibrate option.

For some reason I get notified twice for each text received, which is really annoying. It worked fine when I first set it up that way. It's been like this for a few months now and I just tested it to make sure it's this app's bug. I use Google Messages. I also cannot silence group chats successfully most of the time anymore and am not sure if that's also a problem because of this app. It was fine a few months ago.

I have a Motorola X, and some reason, whenever I receive a notification while my phone is on silent, this app takes my phone off of silent mode and puts it on vibrate. I would really appreciate if this was fixed. Other than that one issue, this is a pretty good app. Would recommend.
