To get a legitimate copy of the game assets, please refer to the GoG release of Diablo 1. Having the source code makes Diablo much easier to update and maintain. For years mod-makers had to rely on tedious code editing and memory injection. A few even went further and reversed most or all of the game. The problem is that they rarely shared their work. Usually being a one-person job, they move on with their lives due to the amount of time required or lack of interest. This brings us back to square one having to do countless hours of work all over again. Devilution aims to fix this by finally making the source code open to the community. In order to ensure that everything is preserved, Devilution keeps everything as it was originally designed. This goes as far as bugs and badly written code in the original game. With that it serves as a base for developers to work with making it much easier than before to update, fix, and port the game to other platforms. As a side goal Devilution tries to document the unused and cut content from the final game. Development of Diablo was rushed near the end--many ideas were scrapped and multiplayer was quickly hacked in. By examining the source, we can see various quirks of planned development. Controls : Controls are very difficult , but it is definitely possible to complete game . The Dpad is used for moving. Attack is used for talking and attacking. You can still select other objects and attack them , just be aware that if monsters are near by they will take priority. doors will open if you click attack near them , but some times you have to highlight them and select attack. cast spell button is for casting spell, some spells like firewall are based on finger location so be sure to select a square first before casting. Touch daemon to use health and rejuvenation potion touch Angel to fill Mana. click on spell icon and drag to select spell. To read a book , place a finger on the screen and double click with another finger. ____________________________ INSTALL: 1. Buy the game on GOG 2. Install the game on Windows 3. Open the file directory where the game was installed on your Windows machine 4. Find the file named DIABDAT.MPQ 5. Sideload it to your Android device via USB or Cloud drive 6. So the demo is playable but the dialogue is banned which is a huge bummer. Not gonna spend $8.70 dollars on the full version when I can play it for free on PC or watch on YouTube. Huge disappointment. Oh well. At least I gave a 2nd chance. Btw the game controls were really bad and hard to navigate, so expect that in the full version. I'm gonna just use YouTube. Farewell.

Some quick and easy tips for controls from someone who plays way too many mobile games. Make the stick for movement invisible. Instead of having a potion buttons have it where tapping the orb for either health or mana will use a health or mana potion. To open the inventory have it where you tap the center of the screen, basically your characters sprite. Instead of having an attack button just tap the right side of the screen. Huds spell button be the cast button, tap, and hold to change spells.

Game is great. Been playing on my note 20 ultra with a gamesir x2 controller. Gameplay is good. Had very little issues getting it all setup. (Most issues were android 11 fault, data folder not visible). Hope mods can be made to work, really want to try them on mobile. Maybe you can add the mod to the home screen when in game like you can switch from diablo to hellfire.

Edit: Please add option to resize or reposition the UI. Most recent update made this port way better. Simple but good-looking UI, WAY better controls, spells are useable, they even added multiplayer support. There's even a neat little option to hop into shareware mode, if you like. If it's possible to zoom in at all that would be a nice feature, it still looks relatively small on my phone.

Game of course is amazing. The controls take a bit getting use to but otherwise it's great. One thing though is I can't figure out how to dupe my stuff (s10)

Brings back some memories... can we get a way too add friends.... Mabbie a way to tell when they are online. seems to be networking issues when more than two players in a match starts to lag and kicks player.

This is really good! My only gripe is that you can't turn touch controls off when you actually have mouse/keyboard at hand (which is thankfully suppoted right out of the gate like Delta/Quad Touch). One thing the description doesn't tell you is about how to enable Hellfire expansion support, so look that up.

Lan was tricky at first to figure out what worked, but once mastered me and my brother were having an awesome time playing Diablo from our phones. We did have one crash which we weren't sure what caused it, but definitely a playable experience.

Really great source port. Supply the 1 data file needed from the original PC game available for very cheap on GOGgames and your reliving the 90s PC classic on a modern device. Devs are also friendly and listen to community feedback which is nearly unheard of when it comes to the Play store market place. I'd give more then 5 stars just for that.
