Love this app a lot BUT ... if u make it an option to identify species from pictures taken god knows when, it should be possible to enter your own location and date. Seeing a wild elephant in southern Germany is rather uncommon :) Thanks

Seek is a helpful to tool learn about your surroundings on the spot and connect with nature. I will say the app is a little screwy sometimes when it thinks a bucket is a barracuda fish lol

Pretty cool app but has a lot of trouble identifying insects, it doesn't even notice that there is an insect most of the time

I would give this app a 5 star review in a heartbeat if the camera didn't crash every time you used it. My wife and friend and I went out into the forest and spent hours taking pictures of things in the forest. However it was truly frustrating everytime we would take a picture you would have to exit and come back into the camera in order to actually capture what you were looking at. If you can fix that I would give it a 5 star. It's also a bit finicky with focusing. It could use some work on the entire camera portion of the app. The Recognition is not TERRIBLE, sometimes it's just flat wrong, but it can't be right ALL the time. It SHOULD have an option for you to be like, "NO. this is in fact NOT what you just suggested" and have it learn from that as well. As a Feature Request you know? I'm using a Note 20 Ultra 5G and notice that it is MUCH more accurate than my wife's Note 10+. Again, just an observation there. But I truly love this app.

One of my favorite apps, but i just wish that the zoom feature of the camera was clearer. When i zoom in with the app it gives me a rather distorted view. It's much clearer when I'm just taking a picture with my phone without Seek app up. It's rather difficult to identify things you can't get real close to without scaring, like birds and insects.

True identification app. No previous plant knowledge required. Interfaces with iNaturalist if you want to explore near-matches but gets me close enough to look at nursery plants. Vast local database of observations, and options for cataloging a neighborhood, park, or other specific area. BHG review said it was for kids, but it's not juvenile in any way. Great for learning about plants in a new city or going out without a big garden book to try and match photos.

I never write reviews, and I used to really love this app but since the update, it's gone severely down hill. I used this app regularly, and now it seems the camera takes forever to focus, if it even decides to work at all, it takes 5x as long to get any sort of information from this app which is growing increasingly frustrating.

Now that I have an upgraded phone with a better camera, (ie, not an S9) my experience has been a lot better. Still a few things that could be improved- it would be nice if the iNaturalist button redirected to the website and not the Seek app on the play store, and I still have to close out of the camera when trying to retake photos because otherwise it goes black. Otherwise nicely done!

The idea of the app is brilliant, but the way it works is just painful. Taking pictures is frustrating. It can't focus, it can't keep steady, even if the photo is crystal clear it can't recognise the species. And surely no observing even slow moving objects. needs a lot of fixing.

I love this app! I just wish the camera focused better. It's so difficult to get to the species sometimes, even though I have perfect angles and shots. To recognize things, it has dots that "load" and identify them. I get good angles and am almost to species, and then it restarts again. I've spent 5 minutes or more on a single plant multiple times and then just gave up. If it takes more than 10 seconds to find the species, I move on. Some things are easier to identify than others.
