Nothing else comes close to xbmc for customisation and good looks and still works properly. This remote is the icing on the cake that completes the setup. It also is acceptable to my partner which is a big plus. Team XBMC have done a fantastic job to produce this free software. Many pay hundreds if not thousands for similar proprietary boxes with less functionality. Only thing I would like to see added to this remote app is Live TV control. This is officially supported now.

I set up XBMC media center on pc...a few simple steps and now I can use this app on my tablet as a remote control. Very convenient at night when lying down in bed to watch my favorite video collections. I even got a Youtube plugin for the server. Only con I can think of is a lack of an easy accessible volum control on the main interface. Other than that, an excellent little app!

I installed this because I don't like having to connect a keyboard or mouse to my media center just to press 'c' or right click to bring up the context menu. Then I found this doesn't have that option. It also doesn't have the options to clean the video library which is what I wanted to bring up the context menu for. It does work fine for general browsing of the menus and selecting a movie and such but it needs to be enhanced with some more options.

The best media software ever made xbmc w/ a smartphone remote app, incredible! Free, no ads, open source, and also free w/ no ads. Been following since the start and no one does it better. Have seen a few bugs I'm sure they're working on. Anyone that wants to bash it needs to get coding make it better then offer it back for free with no ads! Thanks on the great work!

Thanks for the remote guys. I have used the iOS version for 12 months - which was Awesome. And even now used the auto setup on my iPad to get the settings for my Android - it took some messing around to get that working, whereas on the iOS it just worked. But once I got it going, it works fine - although still prefer to use my iPad as the remote.

Good basic remote, but lots or room for improvement. Needs Live Tv support, and better text input, like using the device's built in keyboard as stated by another review. Does the job though, just not excellently. Best option out there, and the price is right. XBMC has a great community of developers, so expect this app to keep impoving with each update.

I REALLY like the calling and sms feature... I just wish it worked with Google hangouts messages since that's the default on newer android phones. Also, there's a bug where if you have the notifications turned on when something is playing on xbmc, and you close xbmc via your phone, the notification stays there unless you force close the app, even though nothing is playing. Should be easy enough to fix though.

I have used this app with my iPhone and loved it please update it so it will be compatible with the Samsung Note 4. I cannot access the add host menu at the bottom. it is completely invisible. I have downloaded many times to retry I will change my review once it is updated just trying to get your attention to fix it. Thank you.

After the update I can no longer browse my TV shows or music using the app. I get "Exception, Invalid perams" even after removing and re adding my tv library! Can I have the old more functional version back please
