TouchMix-8/16 Control is an app for Android smart-phone and tablet devices running Android OS version 5.0 or higher. It provides wireless control of QSC TouchMix-8 and TouchMix-16 digital sound reinforcement mixers. Visit www.qsc.com for more information. The app is not intended to perform any audio mixing or processing tasks on its own. When run on a tablet device, the app closely follows the operational paradigm of the mixers. The app and the mixer GUI operate independently so it is possible for the tablet to act as an additional user interface that can display and control a set of functions completely different from those being controlled by the mixer’s screen and hardware. An alternate operation mode – Follow Mixer – is also available. With Follow Mixer engaged, the tablet follows the fader selection on the mixer. Touch a fader on the mixer and the tablet will display that channel’s Overview, EQ, Compressor, Sends or Gate screen. Touch a parameter on the tablet and the mixer’s rotary control will adjust it – or just drag on the tablet screen. When used without an actual TouchMix, the app acts as a demonstration of the mixer GUI and functionality but does not control audio in any way. On smart phones, the TouchMix Control app functions as a personal stage monitor mix control with the option to also remotely operate the mixer’s record and playback features as well as programmable user buttons. The mixer operator may allow or restrict access to selected functions on a per-device basis. After going thru the learning curve and growing pains of learning how to set up and use the app I have found it to be really useful. It may not be the most stable but when it works right it does well.

I really am extremely disappointed how substandard this app is, given how great the Touchmix 16 is. It's obvious QSC does not really care to compete with other digital mixers that have very stable, fully functional remote-control apps. First, forget about using this unless you use a router. The Touchmix's USB WIFI dongle creates a weak unstable WIFI connection that disconnects every 5 minutes. Second, you need a tablet because the UI on the phone is quite limited. Very disappointing indeed.

I have had a Touchmix 16 since they were first released. I am almost certain that the app controls on my android phone allowed for fuller access to EQ and other mixing functions in the past. If I'm wrong, I do not mind being corrected. Why, when devices are constantly improving, did you nerf the interface on android devices? I just bought the 8 for the College that I work for and was disappointed when I hooked up my personal device for control. Let the user decide how it operates.

Complete garbage. My samsung galaxy s8 is glitchy connects but sliders are not showing correct position, controls not working. Permissions were granted to device in setup. My samsung tab s2 pro won't connect at all. My DJ partner has an older IPhone, app works flawlessly. Guess I hav e to buy an IPAD just to complete the whole point of a digital mixer. It feels like no effort was made on android platform. Principal QA Engineer for a software company, so this really bothers me.

App thinks my 10-inch Lenovo tablet is a phone and won't run in full control mode. QSC and Lenovo keep pointing fingers at each other, and neither wants to take the lead to fix the issue. Very disappointing, since this is one of our go-to field desks.

This could be a little smoother, though it might have something to do with the router. Every once in a while it will disconnect. I do like the monitor lock to keep other band mates out of the mains and each others ear mix over all 8/10

It's a bit of a joke. After using Mixing Station for my MR18, this feels like Windows 3.1 For a mixer that costs twice as much, invest some of that money on a customizable interface app.

This qpp is laughable. Using note 9. Can't mute, eq, or do anything else except for control volume. Checked permissions and everything is good. Great mixer, garbage app

Got it to load and install on my phone only to have not see the mixer. Uninstalled and now it won't reinstall. Says it's waiting for a wifi signal. Worked fine on my cheap Android tablet.

Mute functions do not work. You can set your user buttons as input mutes (etc), but have no feedback which input is muted until you back into the main mix screen.
