A/D watchface stands for Analog/Digital. This watchface always shows a digital clock and smoothly animates into an analog/digital clock combination after a flick of your wrist. A/D has many features: ● Smooth animation between when switching to and from ambient mode ● Configurable complications (1, 2 or 4), also supports background complications such a Muzei ● Configurable digital clock and numerals font ● Configurable Minute and Hour hand color ● Enable/disable analog clock always on ● Enable/disable numerals ● Enable/disable analog clock ● Enable/disable seconds hand ● Enable/disable 24h clock ● Enable/disable leading zero ● Enable/disable notification count indicator ● Smooth or non-smooth second hand ● Burn-in safe (no on-screen elements larger than 6px) ● ... and even more! Note: this watchface is optimized for round devices, but works on square devices without any issues. Note 2: This watchface is NOT compatible with Samsung Gear devices or other smartwatches not running Android Wear. Note 3: This watchface can be installed on your phone but will not show up in your app drawer. It is supported to simplify installation on your watch. Note 4: Android Wear 2.0 is required for complications. The watchface will work on Android Wear 1.6 but will not show any data inside the complications!
App ChangeLog
- - Workaround for issue with the unread notification counter in Android Wear 2.8. This slightly changes the behaviour of the counter (viewing a notification will make the count go down again), but at least the count is correct now.
- Added a warning to the settings screen to indicate that the smooth seconds hand uses a lot of battery

Every so often, I discover a gem amongst the mountains of poorly written apps, and I found one when I installed the A/D Watchface. It's a joy, easy to configure, lots of options, nicely thought out and intuitive, and no bugs that I've found. It's even easy on the battery (I originally thought it was power hungry but I think that was just me spending hours fiddling with it). My only complaint is that I wish it had the option - like my previous three watchfaces did - to have three active buttons (complications). I reckon they would fit, one either side and one just above the 6. Still, I finally have a watchface I like. From one software developer to another, take a bow, Maarten.

Been thru about 20 watch faces, and many got close, but this is near perfect. 2 tweaks would make perfect. 1.Allow the 4x complication to be closer to the edge when no ticks (it looks a bit odd when ticks are off, and I have real ticks on my bezel). A 4x complications oriented 12, 3, 6, 9 would be nice as well (currently only 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, 10:30 locations) 2. Allow some different style hands. The ones here are a little chunky for my liking. Like I say - the best I have used to date tho. A beer has been sent.

Edited to add: Maarten, I did email you as requested but have not heard back. Original review: My goodness I want to give this 5 stars. But I simply can't get the most important complication, the notification counter, to come off of ZERO. This is on a fully up to date Ticwatch S and Pixel 2 XL. Other watchfaces will show the right number of notifications. I've done the "reset to bare metal" dance. This is the best watch face I've ever seen and I'm not going to be able to use it :-( :-( Maarten--if you had a fix for this I'd sure be grateful.

Great watch face easilly customised on watch. Nice neat design good in both full and ambient modes. Checked my battery consumption and no problem at all. Very easy to read and I like the fact that it shows you the time of the next upcoming calendar event. Only gripe, day and date could be a bit bigger, but still readable as it is. Overall a great watch face and my current favorite!

Every time i try a different face, i end up coming back to this one. I haven't found any watch face that's this customizable and clean. My only wishes are: -The complications font could be smaller. My calendar events are cut off after the first word, which is kind if annoying -I wish there were a few options for the hands. even just 2-3 options for each hand would make a world of difference. If this is ever implemented, i request the Milgauss second hand please :)

Honestly, if Google made a pixel watch ever, they should just have this preinstalled. I have never used a better watch face. The transition to ambient is incredible, and the amount of customization is just right for it to be easy, yet personal. I made it look as Googley as possible, but you can change it up so much. Thank you so much!

Excellent and great looking on Fossil Sport. The level of customization is great. Variety of complication layouts also excellent. No other watch face I've tried gives as much functionality. Absolutely transforms the watch. Only minor change would be a brighter font on complications : temperature, for example, on weather is hard to read.

I absolutely love this watch face, the simplicity and clarity makes it If I could make one request, and by no means is this a criticism, when I have the always on face it would be nice if it dimmed quicker rather than waiting for the default setting to dim it in ambient mode as it is brighter than my watch is set at (Ticwatch Pro)

This is simply the best modern analog watchface available. Beautiful design, perfect proportions, and thoughtful customizations for color and style. the only critique I have is the small display for larger bottom complication. I have that set to next agenda item and wish more text could be displayed. The only other thing I will request is a calendar visualization around the edge of the face color coded to the calendars veing displayed. All that said, I still love this one the most! Beer sent 🍻

Excellent watch face. However, please add ability to disbale analog time and have digital time only + complications in ambient mode. Digital time is easier to glance when we are outdoor/ walking /attending meeting etc. When "none" of the tickers are selected please make the numeral act as the tickers by taking the positions of tickers by moving outwards. Currently when ticker is disabled the numerals move close to center of watch and it give a feel that bezel is huge which is not pleasant to the eyes.
